Great article in the "Motley Fool" concerning Royal Mail and GLS.

It would appear a certain analyst has valued GLS at two billion pounds...thats 300 million more than the entire Group.

Explains Kretinsky's interest and hence his investment...he obviously also believes too that it is a much underrated "value stock".

Changing the subject somewhat -- the share price has steadily retraced a fair bit over the last couple of trading sessions; would not be surprised, myself, if we see a reduction in the short-position very soon.

And following on, equally would not be surprised to learn that Kretinsky increases his holding in R.M very soon also.

And does anyone know the exact reason why Rico Back went? Because as of yet...nobody has actually given a concise explanation.

I can readily understand your reluctance to not want to contribute to what, at times, is nothing more than inane drivel...the truth is, in the absence of any hard facts, it would be best for most uninformed people (the majority that is, on this board) not to actually contribute anything at all; unless all they wish to contribute is rehashed "pie-in-the-sky".

And by "uninformed" I include people like me also...but then I don't remorselessly ramp the s.p to Hell either. In other words: how many people on this board really know what they are talking about? Answer: very, very, very few.

Unless you are trading this stock up and down, most of us on here are doing exactly the same thing: investing in a business that might, sometime in the future, (or more likely -- might not!) make a decent profit for us.

In other words -- we are all speculating! I believe it is called gambling.

Anyone who invests a considerable portion of their wealth into this stock is one of two things: certifiably insane...or just plain greedy -- or both!!!

There is going to be no in between here...just a straight win or lose. Simple as that.

If you have been reading any of my comments of the last 8-9 months or so you will see I have been cautioning against the very same things...especially where Georgia's political affiliations and governmental workings are concerned.

You will find, in the main, all your warnings will fall on deaf ears.

I can also confirm the Warrington Hub is to be fitted out with a new Parcel Sorting Machine (posted this a week ago)...but hearing conflicting information as to when.

Was first told that the Hub was shutting down in a couple of weeks to allow the engineers to move in and begin construction (staff to be relocated on the same industrial park in a rented building) but now hearing that it is to be left until after Christmas; seems they have decided to leave it until early 2021.

As the installing and trouble-shooting of the machine can take up to 9 months, it could well be that it is in fact 2022 before this machine is fully operational.

If indeed this is the time-frame in place for the completion of the installation it is hardly a very satisfactory state of affairs is it?

You can see by what amounts to little more than a deafening silence how much interest Haydale now generates on this or the "other board".

The truth quite simply put is that all three main UK graphene investment opportunities (AGM, VRS, Haydale) have not yet got to the stage of actually producing anything of significant commercial value.

They are nothing more than research companies that demonstrate to prospective customers the obvious benefits of incorporating this new "wonder material" into their own standard products.

This is all demonstrated quite clearly by the fact that the new Graphene research centre in Manchester has only been opened quite recently...just a couple of short years ago.

What it comes down to is this: you put your money in and hope that through good fortune, endeavour, hard work (and a certain element of pure dumb luck) the company survives and eventually prospers. Hopefully!

P.s Take a look at "Directa Plus". If you like the idea of investing in Graphene it might well present the best opportunity at present time.

Until Royal Mail becomes a fully automated company, regarding parcels in any case, whether it be 2nd class parcels, MOR or any other sorts of parcels (whichever shape or size) then this company is going to keep on steadily leaking boat loads of money.

It needs to modernise...and modernise quickly.

Let us hope that whomever is given the opportunity of taking the top job has both the drive and determination to ensure that this all gets done at an even more accelerated rate than what was formerly first proposed.

Hopefully that is...don't hold your breath.

Now then. Just to demonstrate how Royal Mail understands the need for speedy change allow me to present the following.

Several weeks ago a driver informed me that when visiting the new "Hub" in Warrington he had been told they would be moving out soon (a couple of weeks) into a temporary building just down the road a little ways so as to allow the engineers to put into place the new parcel sorting machine.

I have since found out that they do not actually intend doing this until after Christmas this year. Therefore, as the installing of the new machine could take at least 6 months (I have been reliably informed up to nine!) to install and trouble-shoot, then the Hub might not be automated until Autumn 2021.

That is, of course, as long as everything goes to plan. (*)

* And if by the remote chance all of the above is universally accepted as a well thought out "plan"... I will eat a BABOON'S bottom.

Firstly. I did not have a choice in which shift might or might not be available to me...it was nights or nothing at all.

Secondly. I am, in all honesty, very happy working nights; and made even happier each weekly payday by the additional amount of the £90.00 night-shift allowance.

And as for Mr Kretinsky? Depends on whether he sells his shares or not.

If not, and he keeps on acquiring more...then, yes -- this could be very significant indeed!!

Very significant for all Royal Mail employees that is.

Working hard on the cross-docking, Mad; as usual, with or without the covidvirus, it is pretty relentless.

Without any doubt, they are not even processing half the amount that the Angard workers would turn over.

No not particularly, AJamesW, as I stated previously -- I made a nice big wedge out of it all! And thats despite the stop-lose chucking me out when it did.
