Bexamrilimab solid tumor combination trial program expanding 🚀 🚀

Today we announced BEXAR — an investigator-initiated, randomized Phase I/II trial in first-line metastatic soft-tissue sarcoma evaluating bexmarilimab + standard-of-care chemotherapy doxorubicin, in collaboration with Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) (Barcelona) and sponsored by MEDSIR .

Anti-Clever-1 Ab treatment is known to improve chemotherapy response in preclinical models (Elorbany et al., Nature Communication 2024) and sarcomas show among the highest levels of Clever-1 expression — strong rationales for testing chemotherapy plus macrophage reprogramming with bexmarilimab to help overcome treatment resistance and improve treatment results. This is the second bex combination trial in solid tumors. This clinical study will be led by Dr. Cesar Serrano, a leading international sarcoma expert, ESMO sarcoma faculty member and sarcoma research group leader from the prestigious Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO).

This news is just more additional value being added to the Bex platform - at no cost to Faron other than some admin and supplying the drug and support .

The drop in SP is due to the lack of news about Bexmab partnering / funding .

Yes Luck , I think that may be the case - ie positive for the industry . The nuclear winter may be over for the small pharmas looking for financing . The QT has stopped and now its QE again by the looks of it and more liquidity being pumped into the system . Faron are primed at just the right point in their program now to take advantage . I'm confident we will get snapped up eventually . Having Ralph Hughes in the business development role was a key signing - and I'm in doubt he has been more than busy recently . US Markets shut tomorrow I think - but news could land any time I guess .

The more I ponder this the more I think this has to be positive .

The guy is a seasoned CFO - for the sake of about £7k , he wouldn't throw a spoke in the wheels right now without any consideration of how it would look . He would know that anytime you see Management selling , the red flag goes up and it gets scrutinized .- unless its just after a massive milestone or change of situation , or just a bit of profit taking with a small % sale in which case its often accepted .

But this little one is like a breadcrumb that has slipped out .

We know they are working on a massive company making deal - they are at JPM conference - and this little thing squeaks out .

I only wish I had the balls to add more on my hunch now - but not long to find out now I'm guessing . Still keeping cash on the side should they decide to go down the financing placing route - but this action just seems to make me feel we are getting very close .

Looking at RNS- since he joined ( Dec 2024- there is no Director dealing info of his purchase . Although I guess he is not a Director - but usually a CFO purchase would show up . So how and when he acquired these shares who knows ? Petri Bono has 4500 too - and no RNS about his purchase that I could find either .

Dekkers has 180,000 options at 2.26 euro .

That could be a reason for him selling - perhaps it became apparent that at the time he purchased them , he was aware of price sensitive info - hence the reverse out of it before news lands - just to avoid any scrutiny . I'll have to check when he bought them - but obviously it wasnt that long ago .

I really cant see why he would do so otherwise at such a critical time unless it was to clean the decks and make sure he was squeaky clean . I mean - the guy is a professional - not some trainee accountant just out of college .

I'm giving him the benefit of doubt for now - and if we get a $2b deal , i'll send him a thank you card and a box of Roses .

Luckily it hadn't bothered the SP - but like you say - optics wise - its a bit of prat move considering Juho is at the JPM conference . 4000 shares is peanuts - they could have given him that out of petty cash . So it is bizarre . Him at Petri Bono both had that amount - plus options . Its totally insignificant . Other than the bloke is a prat - I can only guess that any other reason could be - his accountant did it by accident ? some sort of tax saving loophole ( pointless) or that something required him to sell . Maybe he is chronic gambler or drug addict or he had to bail out his weed dealer .

I dont know of any companies where to complete a sale or T/O the CFO has to dispose of all his shares ? Maybe thats a thing ?

Or perhaps its an initiation ceremony where every member of management has to create their own 'hiccup' to be part of the club . That's actually my leading hypothesis at the moment .

I'm no expert , but this triffling small amount - which was all he had - smacks of some accounting necessity .

Yes feels like an Ice age - lots of positive vibes - but the speed at which they are sorting a partner out would make a glacier looks fast ! Surely we can't be far away now . As we've discussed before - something will have to happen soon - be it a mega raise or someone steps up and pays the entry price . I think all new drugs should be named after colours of drying paint - because that's what it feels like watching these kind of shares sometimes . We don't even get the old 1 share trades anymore to give us a whisper of excitement . I'm going to take a punt and say an Deal RNS on the 15th - Thurs - last day of JPM conference . Cmon!!!

He seems very encouraged - both in the expectation that the new trial will be starting shortly , and that the design of the trial will give Bex the best chance of success , having learnt from trial design failures with other drugs in the MDS space .

Petri Bono is a no nonsense guy - and I don't think he would be pushing all this activity out there if he hadn't been assured that funding was going to be there . BEXMAB trial in AML and MDS has shown that bexmarilimab (BEX) is an ideal backbone for combination treatments, and now we’re moving that momentum into solid tumours. First up: the Blaze trial at The Institute of Cancer Research in partnership with The Royal Marsden, combining bexmarilimab + anti‑PD‑1 (zimberelimab) to re‑sensitize patients with metastatic NSCLC and melanoma who have progressed within 12 weeks of the last dose of immune checkpoint therapy.

This is a logical next step after the MATINS first‑in‑human study, where single‑agent bexmarilimab delivered disease control and Anna played a key role as investigator. In this BLAZE proof-of-concept study, metastatic NSCLC and melanoma patients exhibiting secondary resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors are treated with bexmarilimab + zimberelimab.
