Thing is Narcus there's many other great value, and higher short term growth, stocks out there to invest into. Meanwhile yes VOD has got the merger with 3 over the line but now commences a long process of consolidation of those duplicated processes, with that will come some costs to conduct that... added into the mix is the EU PMI composite which indicates EU services contracted in May. If VOD slips back into the mid-60p's then I think it'll once again attract buyers but until then I think despite the buybacks it looks set to slide for the time being.

Inflation fell below target of 2% and PMI composite has indicated contracting services. Making a cut tomorrow IMO absolutely nailed on.

Shorters should react with closing out and we should be imminently rocketing upwards towards and possibly above the 170p threshold 👍😎☀️

EU inflation just recorded a fall to 1.9% in May25 - that's below the 2% target rate, so now a 0.25% ECB rate cut, later on this week, is pretty much a nailed on certainty! Meanwhile SSPG continues to book massive revenues thanks to it's aggressive growth strategy.

This stock is going to absolutely fly because SSPG board have also invested into the correct places around the globe (India +USA) and have made superb franchise + partnership agreements with other prominent and fast growing businesses too e.g. Greggs.

Them shorters apparently still trying hard to short this stock... cranking up the pressure cooker...

I happen to think they'll soon be getting burnt🔥 - yes, macroeconomic situation globally is rathe turbulent but... SSPG itself is doing very very well indeed - I just think shorters are way underestimating this businesses ability to deliver, when it comes to the board's bold but strategic high growth approach.

Should shorters go full tilt & crank up the stakes, then I shall keep on buying up some more on drops.

Macy - depends how you determine is best to derive your valuation. For me, I've used asset-based calculation based on if the business were to be liquidated within the next 6-months - I've considered fogs for:

1. Current business assets.

2. Current business liabilities inc. current debts.

3. Considered the next 6xmonths likely incoming revenues, costs and small profit - plus the income net from the India IPO.

Obviously it's only my guestimate (I don't have access to the SSPG books of course and I'm no accountant either). However, the floor has to be around at least £1.8bn market cap IMO and it could well be higher (much will depend on the forward revenues which are anticipated to be rather chunky indeed - allowing debts to easily be serviced and some more!)

CHELMOCHASER - Glad you agree. At current SP market cap sitting at ~£1.3bn... insanely low - yes okay SSPG does have sizable debts (which it's rightly using to leverage rapid growth) and IMO the business should at least be worth ~ £1.8bn which equates to an SP of £2.25p.

Macy - believe what you wish. However, the simple fact is SSPG is booming & nothing gonna hold it back (travel strikes included - which time to time take place in different countries the world over, and that'll always be the case).

I've accumulated a nice stake now & I'll continue snaffling up more when I've the finances to buy up more tranches (& so long as the price is within my target buying range) 👌😎☀️

Strikes haven't had either a clear upside or downside for SSPG.

Yes, I have read the reports and am eagerly awaiting the India IPO upcoming over the summer, the share buybacks mentioned in latest results and further strong revenue growth 👍😎☀️

Strikes tend to mean greater number of being travellers held up, needing to buy more food+drinks.... Rarely has a negative impact for SSPG.

Horsey one, yep - disappointing that closing auction & UT but I'm content with having purchased another tranche at ~164.9p nonetheless, whilst it's slightly raised my average I still view it as a decent price. I've no purchases above 168p yet and I'm sure at some point down the line I will be buying some stock in the 170p's too. IMO SSPG will easily be hitting £5bn revenues within 2.5-5yrs time 👍

Horsey one... high odds on an ECB rate cut next week - So if there should prove to be insufficient buying, to force the shorters to close out today, then I'd imagine a cut next week would finally force them into buying the stock to close out their positions!

Trisor - if they’ve already made the payments back then it was detail not contained in the article I'd read. There was no intention to mislead on my part - I simply quoted the article I read.

That comment from the CPI spokesperson you quoted doesn't seem to have specified exactly when the payments had been made. Is there any info out there on precisely when CPI made those payments?

Macy - Just for the record btw. I've healthy profit here on SSPG, as I purchased much of my holdings down in the low-mid 150p's ;-)

I think the shorters are beginning to give up today... bounced off low 163p's & nothing appears to have the strength to drag it back down there. Should rise nicely upwards now! ;-)

Definitely bouncing upwards off from low 163p's here so I think that is the floor price today. Surely shorters will give up & close out today as the writings on the wall here IMO- in a matter of months this will easily be hitting ~200p+ - For me I'll certainly be buying up more stock when I've the spare cash to do so.

Davethehorse - Bizarrely my purchase isn't showing up on the trades panel on this site here, ah well! I increased my holdings by 1/7th today. Looking at current SP I definitely could have saved that tuppenny or so - typical haha! Entirely possible the keen price on offer today might very soon trigger those big players waiting on the side-lines to make a bold move. Total steal at ~163p - I do have a little more cash available, I wasn't going to spend it but might just call the shorters bluff some more, if there's a further trim, cause this is getting mega silly now at these low prices!

My estimation on the bottom here is ~163.6p and that's because at anything lower this stock rapidly becomes not just a good bargain but an absolute steal! My reasoning for buying a shy above where I think the floor price is sitting is that if some hot shot swoops in and buys up a stack load then I'll have ended up missing out big time and all for just a miserly penny or two!

I think it's possible we may see shorters close out PM today too. Just don't see their risk v reward stacking up in their favour any longer. Shorters are only benefiting right now from the onlookers holding back, attempting to fetch the very best price... I honestly think this stock here is hotly primed for takeoff the moment a big player is no longer a spectator.

I've just topped up at ~164.9p ish - yup, it may well trim ever so slightly lower than the current SP but... I certainly don't want to be missing out on snaffling up some more here - once it's 200p+ in a few months I'll not be worrying about whether I could have bought it 0-3p cheaper!

Examining the rules on how buybacks are conducted... possibly fewer might be being purchased by buybacks due to limits placed on 'numbers purchased over 12-month time period'? or due to limits on numbers which 'must remain in the hands of the public after a buyback'? - I'm no expert on these rules but I do know VOD has had buybacks taking place for a long time now and maybe that might explain the recent qty drops? - Might be capping the qty which can currently be bought back? - This is only my guess, open to views of others on here if anyone thinks different?
