Let’s go mining4 Oct 2022 16:37
Once the vote is in on Friday and the result is positive, then Greatland Gold is going mining, with or without Newcrest.
Why do I say that?
We have a big cornerstone investor in Wyloo, who wouldn’t even consider coming on board if there was any doubt as to Havieron being mined. We also have Board members of the highest quality who have recently joined us and they would not be here if Havieron was a none starter.
People say we must wait for the results of the definitive Feasability Study, before a decision to mine is made, but barring earthquakes suddenly appearing, this will be a formality, ( for the reasons given above). These people know!!!!
Newcrest can try to delay or obstruct the decision to mine, but Shaun has the team to do their own DFS to prove it is a goer and as such can ask for a vote to go ahead with mining.
A unanimous vote is required and should there be any disagreement the other company is entitled to buy the objecting partners share of the project at fair market value.
Newcrest tried to buy 5% of the project for a rumoured 20 million and GGP’s valuation was 60 million so as a starting point GGP could offer to buy out Newcrest for 280 - 840 million.
With Wyloos clout that could be achieved and even more.
So I don’t think Newcrest are likely to vote No and lose Havieron, so for me, the mine is getting built once a positive decision is made regarding the General Meeting vote.
