We have already been affected by the refusal to honour last years triple lock. We got 3.1% whilst inflation reached 10%. I wonder what the figure for the CPI will come in for September and then watch Octobers rate.

The Government is now trying to bring in the CPIH formula which is lower than the CPI rate, which in turn replaced theRetail Price Index, which from memory was showing inflation around 14%.

I have to say the mini budget does nothing for the pensioners. Let’s hope this government doesn’t go back on the triple lock promise, although I’m sure some fiddling of the CPI will be done for the next figures,

Hi Ben. I was writing my post at the same time as yourself, otherwise I would have posted it under the same thread.

The community who work in the UK Finance sector are an incestuous lot, where it doesn’t take long for news on a share issue to filter through. Especially on the AIM market. We saw the amount of shares shorted increase dramatically, just before GGP’s cash raise and one can only speculate that it was people in the know, who were doing it.
Those same people would quite easily be able to buy back the shares when the share issue had been done, especially with the amount of new shares in circulation.
It happens so many times. Again especially on AIM.
The figures suggest we are down to 31 million shares which are shorted. Does anyone know how that 31 million is distributed? Could JPM still have their 20 million ?

If another deal was to be done, do we need to go to the market for cash ( which could affect the sp) or could we do an all share deal at a good rate? Shaun would still need the ability to issue the shares though.

Talking of cheeky bids, how about Wyloo buying Havieron and the Telfer processing plant from NCM.

Devon kid,what timing. I have just messaged my broker to vote for all the resolutions. My broker doesn’t normally alert me, but yours may be different. If you deal with your broker on line, then just to make sure your wishes are complied with, I would contact them.

Aqua, I thought GGP was paying back the loan early as the difference in interest levied on it, made it attractive to do so.

But it isn’t two weeks. The share issue was done on the 12th September with approval likely on the 9th October.

Announcing a bid to buy a company, then having to wait for approval, alerts other companies to try and make a counter bid. Let Shaun make any negotiations confiden5ially and wrap up a deal before announcing it. If that is what he is planning.

They are due a resource update on their Carlow Castle project any day soon, plus they are drilling deeper at their project near to Havieron, so results there before Christmas, hopefully.

iPad, that is true, but if he has to wait weeks for permission 5o make an offer, then he could lose that opportunity.

As I said earlier, these resolutions only last until the next AGM, which will likely be held mid December and as TT has just stated, they are similar 5o the ones voted through last year..

TT, after reading up on the Companies Act and Greatland Golds articles of Association, I concede that only 14 days notice is required for this meeting.

Jiffy, I wasn’t thinking of GGP, buying F Gold. The other way around would be nice. F Gold buying the Tasmanian assets, or at worst, a jv to develop them.

One of our old colleagues, now on GGP help, mentioned ***** Gold and a possible connection to our Tasmanian assets. They have issued an ASX type Rns tonight, outlining further mineralisation at one of their sites..

These boards have talked about Shaun acquiring a ‘producing’ asset to help us through to production at Havieron in approx 18 months time.

Now some are talking about tying his hands, should an opportunity arise between now and December, when the AGM, will vote on the same issues.

Didn’t Shaun hint at being close to some sort of deal. ( unless he was referring to the Wyloo situation )? He is not going to go out and waste shares on something worthless now is he?

As another poster said earlier, we have to trust Shaun to deliver.
