"(Sharecast News) - Premier Inn owner Whitbread is reportedly planning to sell a swathe of hotels to unlock £1.5bn for shareholders.

According to The Times, the company is expected to announce plans later this week for the sale and leaseback of one in five of the freehold hotel properties it currently owns outright, following a strategic review of its business model."

Will this be an actual cash payment or another share buyback scheme since the last one has just finished ? Doesn't seem to me as if a buyback scheme is very effective in raising share price.

Still confused......I had 123 original shares now have 109 due to consolidation and 24MICC due to demerger which is as calculated but I calculate i have lost 0.6 original shares on demerger and 0.33shares on consolidation which add up to nearly one share. The cash payment on 5th December was for the dividend already declared . Do we get a payment for the bits of shares missing?

Checked today and my holding has been reduced WTF is going on.
