The notion that IG won't let you buy on leverage because they have inside information is just plain stupid.

Why would they let you buy on non leverage then?

There is not limit on what you can buy on non leverage.

They hedge their risk on leverage book by first offsetting longs vs shorts. They would then hedge further by going into the market if they need to. If there are liquidty issues or they are beyond their risk limits they are not going to take on more trades until they are within their risk limits.

Tell us why you think IG won't let you buy on leverage at the moment? If you think they are scared you will make a lot of money at their expense then you don't understand how their business works.. They make their money on the spread..They are not sitting there trading against you.

That's why they are so successful.

Ig are letting you buy on non leverage. Ig don't have any insider iformation.

Below is the main reason why they go to closing only on stocks. From their own website.. All to do with the risk and liquidity issues on spreadbetting and cfd books.

IG client positioning has become very one-sided and IG has reached their maximum risk tolerance for the asset and so have closed the book until a number of the open positions have been closed, that may take hours, days or sometimes longer.

The big institution/ Hedge funds should be made to declare who they borrowed the stock from to short. I think that would put an end to dodgy short attacks. The lenders may think twice before having their name attached.

Wonder why it's taking so long to hire a permanent CFO? Had two interims since the last CFO left.

No one is going to offer £4/5 per share.

Every chance of a MBO in my opinion. Too be honest, it looks like the most likely option. He just doesn't want to lose control of his baby. My prediction is £2.50 buyout with QIA before September.

If he came out with a offer lower than Apollo he would look like a muppet knowing that Apollo would disclose what they had offered.
