As far as I know Camelot is just a one man band. I would imagine he is just a punter like the rest of us but with a bit more money to play with. I cant imagine he would be involved in any takeover but MA is a different story.

I'm really surprised why no stake bought by him. He has been buying large percentages in Asos,Boo,Ao,Currys.

You would have thought there would be a strategic partnership of some sort to benefit sports direct and THG nutrition.

Probably heavily connected with this move as he has media experience having been chair at ITV

Let's hope the first thing they do is an article on how the THG share price is worth £5 per share!

Ig margin changes take place at 3pm today. Will be interesting to see if it effects the THG share price in anyway.

To be honest I thought the margin changes were not going to help the share price as about 98% of clients were long on THG. If positions are being reduced or clients are stumping up more margin then IG need to hedge less and they would be sellers in the market.

Ocado is run by ex Goldman Sachs boys...I can pretty much guarantee if MM was ex Goldmans the share price would be 3 or 4 times higher than it is..

it's shocking they do this to exisiting open positions.

imaging you opened a position with 10% margin and are sitting on a big loss waiting for a recovery. they then ask for 100% margin which you can't provide.

you are forced to take the loss. i feel for those in that position.. i'm a premium client but honestly they are a bunch of ****h0les for doing this to people!

Ig hedge by matching longs & shorts first. They then have to go into the market to buy shares to hedge the excess longs. This buying would effect the market price depending on the volume.

Unless someone told you or you read the forums an IG client wouldn't have known about the margin changes. You woukd only have known otherwise if you tried to place a new trade or specifically went looking for the new margin rates. I only heard about the changes coming last week as it was mentioned on the chat forums.

They come into effect next Tuesday and I was told today by my premium account manager. I presume they are communicating to clients only from today.

It's a huge jump in margin. There are going to be clients who are going to be forced to reduce their positions when they are told.

When I asked why the margins are shooting up I was told basically as virtually all their clients are long they have to go out to their brokers to hedge these bets and their brokers have increased the costs for IG to hedge.

It's not new positions only..

My account manager just range me to tell me that from next Tuesday it's going up from 9% to 25% on existing positions for premium clients.

Premium client manager just informed me of margin increase on THG for leverage products.

From 9% to 25% for premium clients

10% to 45% for normal accounts.

They are going to screw a lot of clients who can't stump up the extra margin they are asking for..

They should have at least put a share price target of £1.50 before they can actually get the free shares or be able to sell them. Has to be some incentive aligned with ordinary shareholders if you're giving them at zero cost.

Had been closed to buy on margin for a few weeks until today.

I would add..unless you've done your research and understand balance sheets stay away from anything listed on AIM or registered on a small island!

I suupose if MM has plans to take it private the directors can "claim" they had no idea when they bought.

Lets hope MM was in the Middles East to drop of the keys to THG buildings for £3.50 a share!

Wonder if this is the reason for the drop in Asos today. Any hope of a Ashley takeover dented with him buying Boo stake.

His stake in ASOS now seen just as an investment and not a takeover play.
