How does a share price go up and down? Demand & supply I would think. If more more people are buying then are selling would you expect the price to fall? Why is the trade data categorised as buys and sells (even though it might not be 100% accurate?

Without any news this has dropped from around 450p to 222p since January. So nearly 50% on what?

You normally get 20% decline on results day but this has been a shocker!

At least the shorts haven't piled in. If you don't count SIH which is hedging it's long then I think shorts above .5% total 2.5%.

Much lower than previous highs and lower than Boohoo. This drop is very ASOS specific and looking at the trades published It doesn't look like any heavy sellers. I am now also thinking this is related to the index rebalancing trade gone wrong.

I don't know how they've done it to reduce the mkt cap by 40% with no big sell volume.

I would be surprised if there was a rights issue announced just after Ashley increased his position - they would have had to run it past him first as is major shareholder.

.No major increase in shorts - SIH has a short but is also a big shareholder

.They reiterated medium term guidance.

.They have a credit facility to utilise before rights issue.

.The trade data doesn't show any big trades of any size over the last couple of weeks and my head tells me I've seen nothing to cause a 40% drop.

Maybe the index balancing trade that someone mentioned already that went t*ts up at Millenuim Investment has something to do with this drop.

However, I am biased as am down a lot . It's been an opportunity to lower my average and hopefully it pays off.

They really should issue an RNS after a drop of this size just to calm the market.

I mean before any piddly cash raise if that's what's being planned.

Why don't they just cut the capex for a while. Cash flow numbers would look much better - sounds too easy!

All Asos has to do is put out simple RNS - " no rights issue - and no particular known reason for the share price decline"

What I just don't get is that today there is much higher volumes of buys to sells and so big trades published. How does a share drop so much if it was down to just supply and demand? Is there something I'm missing like another way of selling without the trades being published?

Even if say there was a leak, how does that explain no trades of any size or that Ashley just increased his holding? No new shorts piling in?

I have no idea what is going on.

Would be puzzing if there was a rights issue announced just after Ashley increased here. No way he would not be consulted first being a major holder.

About 20k volume of both buys and sells so far.. no big trades either way. What is going on?
