Ramping pants in full flow now! There’s absolutely nothing to suggest the Saudis are the least bit interested in QFI. They just posted their largest profits ever. To them, QFI “savings” amount to small change left at the bar.

This is an absolute garbage comment from Brian McShaggis. He knows very well commercial contracts for Morocco supply will take many months to put in place after any successful trial. Then planning and engineering works to create fuel production. Many more months (6/9).
There is zero chance that income from Morocco can avert a fundraise.
At best the SP will lift to a more acceptable level where any placing does not dilute us severely.

If my memory serves me well, I believe QFI have exclusive rights from Nouryon to supply the additives for all oil in water emulsion fuels. That gives us an additional avenue of control and income stream.

Some “guidance” on who the fuel supplier is would go a long way to making it feel a tad more real. The vessel is probably 90% ready for LONO as she stands today. Docking adds a scrubber which helps, but progress on the fuel supply partner is critical or we’re not going anywhere.

Would Maersk have completed the lono had the ship not struck the wreck? We will never know for sure but I suspect they probably would have just to sign off on the agreed programme.
The accident and subsequent decision to use low sulphur gas oil, provided them with an opportune moment to abandon msar and the lono.

Form our perspective it’s been a bit of a tragedy. Had they completed the LONO, MSC could be using msar on their fleet right now, as could Maersk themselves as they now use high sulphur fuel with scrubbers!

But it’s in China, “fact”.

The trials are not scheduled to start in Q2. MSC vessel preparations are to complete in Q2 so that means the vessel is ready, but what of the fuel supply? It won’t appear overnight , so expect a much later start for lono, most likely late Q4 or beyond.

And so the ramping traders arrive and spout their shyte. QFI going bust yesterday but now soon be 10p! This fuel should have arrived in December, latest. Let’s see if the trial starts in Q3, would be a first for QFI tbh.

Of course other parties have an influence in QFI timelines, that’s obvious, but it’s QFI responsibility to take the information they have and advise shareholders of likely timelines and outcomes. In that regard each of their timelines/guidance publications in recent, and not so recent years, has missed the mark by a mile or simply never happened or mentioned again, numerous examples over the 10 years I’ve been a holder.

It’s ultimately up to the individual investor to decide if QFI are the victim of other parties not delivering, or victims of their own wildly optimistic/some would say misleading, guidance.

Personally I am tired of the “it’s not our fault” narrative coming from QFI HQ. I have a clear idea of where the problems lie and will use that to decide what I do with my investment, others will no doubt do likeliest.
