Whilst I’m all for a 10-bagger, this being the greatest lithium mine in Europe, etc., a little realism as to where we are now (and have been for a while), keeps my thoughts … in check ;)

It seems on the up at the moment - and so I’m expecting to see many more comments that ‘now is the time’ …but we’ve been here before….

I think it must give KC a sense of purpose. I mean, it must be boring sitting around day after day with nothing happening and re-jigging the PowerPoint presentation for the umpteenth time by moving the dates of any future milestone

I think it will be a few years to get more factories up and running. To get to a 25k car from current factories will need those factories to be re-built (i mean install latest tech/fabrication) - which would interrupt current output. It's a slower burn... as ever with Musk on Tesla - promises promises...

hua hua hua, you mean. Meanwhile the world is learning not to trust big American tech companies with your personal preferences and data. At least they are only in it for your money!

“Stripped” sounds so easy. (re-)design, deployment, migration is services.... and 5G is imminent. Trials are already taking place. “Proper”/Full 5G Standards have yet to be finalised so “true” 5G isn’t immediate - still time to select (non-Chinese) vendors who will provide Standards-compliant solutions....

Huawei have an army (no pun intended) of (cheaper) support staff back in China. Their solutions may be just as good as, and who knows, maybe better than, any western offerings (Ericsson or Nokia for instance - noting the E/// issue that caused outage at O2 and other networks due to bad software coding, as I understand it). If Huawei is shunned by all operators (note, for core network, not the radio parts) then all networks are in the same boat. [don’t quite follow the anti-Chinese logic - we will pay through the nose for a Chinese company run future nuclear power stations!? Surely some risk there too...?]

It’s all political... damned if they do and damned if they don’t: if they don’t do anything customers may question security (and yes, maybe perception would only be but bad for brand) and if they choose a non-chinese vendor it may be more costly, with delayed/more issues...

Which 5G core? The one that EE service will be launched on next year... or the core one that will compliant to the 3GPP Standards (now due to be ratified by March 2019)... ? ;-)

I’m sure it’s not quite yet. 5G is being built. Maybe in time when 5G-proper comes along. (And what of some of our nuclear power - happy to have a Chinese company build and run that...?)

I think the underlying message is that with (BT...) 5G you might not need expensive satellite backhaul and all the kit and people that go with it - just use 5G coverage to get your video back to the production site (for example). Opening up new opportunities... The average consumer might not need 5G (at least not the initial iteration) - operators need to cope with congestion - but if some punters want to pay...

I believe the French company could make the passports a lot cheaper than the U.K. company... sounds good, unless we want to be protectionist in our new Brexit world? At least in this crazy world, we can now be proudly wave our blue passports — and be more easily identifiable — as U.K. citizens when travelling abroad... (!)
