The importance of wearing proper masks in the protection of our NHS.
These figures are up to August 20. If the Covid deaths are related to work then there will be a payout of 60k for each individual.
60% of nursing staff still travel and attend work after testing positive for Covid 19.
I would suggest suitable high specification approved masks that meet a standard are used. Have a kite mark and BS number.
Safety is paramount amongst our medical staff yet we have imbeciles who are not able to comprehend this or failing that they are immature in thinking it is only over 80 year old people who die. Wow, how infantile and self opinionated that person must be. How would they feel if their mother or father contracted Covid and died.
Believe me masks are important! I have worked in the Nuclear Industry for over 30 years and much of that time spent wearing RPE ( respiratory protective equipment) in the form of Respirators both powered and normal, breathing apparatus. air supplied hoods, windscale suits. Working in environments of high alpha contamination Am241, Pu239,Pu249, Pu241. This stuff is dangerous one inside your system you have a friend for life. Alpha emitters are extremely Radio toxic. Unlike Polonium 210 which is an alpha emitter but over 1000 times more deadly the cyanide as a poison. We use RPE which is second to none. RPE is serviced after each use or once per fortnight if not used. The level of protection is first class.
A similar level of protection in the working environment should and must be used to protect our nursing staff and key workers. Perhaps some of the recalcitrant all knowing individuals, don't think this should happen and see Covid 19 as a big laugh with the' it cant happen to me attitude.'
Level of protection on RPE must be greater than 2000 factor protection ie greater than 99.98%. All masks are certified and individually numbered with each record of use. We are not allowed to use anything less. The P2F mask I believe falls within this category of 99.98% efficiency particulate and will be approved/ accredited + added advantage of Cu nanoparticles applied to layers of the mask to destroy viruses.
'The deaths of hundreds of NHS and social care workers infected with coronavirus are under investigation by medical examiners, The Independent has learnt.
Ministers have asked medical examiners in England and Wales to review all deaths of frontline health and social care staff infected with the virus to determine whether the infection was caught as a result of their work.
The review, which started last month, is likely to cover more than 620 deaths including nurses, doctors and care home staff across England and Wales, since the beginning of March.
It could trigger a number of investigations by hospitals, the Health and Safety Executive, and coroners into the protection, or lack of, for staff during the pandemic when many hospitals ran out of protective masks and clothing.
Do we need our NHS o
