Made 45% of my weekly target today by selling PLUS, ASC and CCL. Have bought back into PLUS and ASC hopefully for another bite of the cherry tomorrow.
G: I still have some AFX that a languishing at a loss...is there any hope for them do you think?

Could have taken a £100/2% profit on EZJ just now but think the prospects for more tomorrow are good so not selling yet.

I have misjudged CCL yet again and missed a bit of profit there. Well done V, I'm envious. Actually you did well on MCRO too, I paid 451. Doh.

I looked at IAG, EZJ and TUI for a possible over reaction to new quarantine steps. To keep you company, I have bought 1000 EZJ at 486p

Thanks T. That is interesting and seems that MCROs business really should be in increasing demand right now. Glad I just bought although not sure about their shake this morning.

C: yes, FEVR...T line on 10 min chart indicated sell at 1812, I had only had them for a few minutes so ignored the indication (a terrible way to trade!!!) but feel they will turn round and we will see 1800+ again. HA! Hope springs eternal.

Think my judgement has gone. Made a nice early day trade on PLUS, then bought back in way too high. With CCL, US futures, partly driven I suppose by the live UK price, think I may have called it wrong. Not sure they will drop below 900 today. Frankly, I just don't know but at this moment, think I shouldn't have sold (so soon). On MCRO, I want to buy back in but they are moving sideways at the moment, oh what the hell, I will buy. Ha. Bought at 451
ASOS moving sideways at the moment also. Seem to remember L saying when a share moves sideways do nothing.

US future on CCL is down 5%. I know that will change nearer the US open but I am nervous having been burnt on CCL last week so am taking the profit on CCL and selling now.

Yes, agree on MCRO, T line was indicating sell at 470 but I was busy elsewhere, HEMO up 30% but Idecided to keep holding it.
Will consider buying back into MCRO.

I read the fool articles althougth I don't really rate them. My feeling was to buy more CCL this morning. I still have some bought on friday. They closed strong in US on friday. On balance I think they will rise today. Have just bought back into ASC at 2895.

V: I sold MCRO at 460 to cut my loss, regretted it as it then looked like they would rise again. Aaarrhh.

C: Thanks for warning about LSE missing RNSs, they are getting reliable at that lately.
Bought FEVR at 1830, possibly rash. Sold ASC at 2937.

G: My partner broke me of sellers remorse. She says "so what if a small profit is not as good as a bigger profit, it's a lot better than no profit and infinitely better than a loss" (I still get the remorse though but I don't shout about it so much!)

C: Thanks for that FEVR info, I might just have a punt at them myself.

C: Yes IG does have a normal share dealing account, it is what I use. They don't do themselves any favours with continually focussing on spread betting/CFDs but I guess it is where they are making the most money. Hope you get on well with it (the IG platform), I like it a lot.

My style of trading couldn’t be more different from Ts. I usually make several trades a day, sometimes it’s none or 20 or more. I deal in several companies at the same time and sometimes it gets hectic and things are happening simultaneously so I inevitably mistime some trades. I couldn’t spend time waiting for just one or two shares to perform. I make losses but they are outweighed by gains. I take very small gains if I think it will turn into a loss by waiting. I try to cut my losses if needs be. i.e. sell at a loss if I think I have read the trend wrong. I hate selling at a loss.
I have mentioned before that I trade in tranches. I try not to get emotionally attached to a share but I don’t always succeed. As T does, I move to another share at the drop of a hat if I think I can make more profit, quicker. I use Stochastic indicators and lately have been experimenting with the T line and ema 8 and 34. They don’t fully fit my style but have helped me to better “guess” the bottom and top of curves. They have also made my trading less hectic. Yes, IG love me because I pay lots of fees but it seems to work for me.
On top of this “style”, I use Ts spike and shake system. I understand it’s benefits and it works for me. The 9 point plan is stuck up above my computer. But because I am so busy watching and trading , I don’t always use the proceeds of a sale of say, OCDO, to buy a different number of OCDO shares next time so I am running a hybrid! As already mentioned, I hate selling at a loss but Ts system demands this sometimes but it usually results in the subsequent purchase of more shares. And it does work.
These are special times, there is a level of volatility in the market that is a golden opportunity. I hate to get stuck holding a share at a price that is too high, doesn’t everyone? But I feel at the moment, dealing in shares like IAG, CCL even TLW is comparatively “safe” because of the backstop of the recovery which must surely come. I won’t predict when though.
Incidentally, I am currently completely out of OCDO. Good luck whatever system you are using.

Just read your messages and first I have to say I am sorry for your loss.
I know of cases like that, I suppose everyone does really. People have a spectrum of experiences with the NHS, doctors and care in general. I think we have to react, to get the story out there in the hope that it improves things for others. My experience is that it does improve things for yourself otherwise you are left with that nagging feeling that you should have done something.

That was a true case of altruism, that O’s friend refused the compensation. Truly.
I remember reading somewhere the significant proportion of the NHS budget that is allocated to compensation cases. It shocked me but I guess sometimes things go wrong and result in life changing situations that can last for many years for the patient and also for the family as carers. It makes one thank one’s lucky stars for reasonably good health.

A very heavy saying, I’m not saying this applies to your neighbour’s actions. It is a difficult situation. There is a fine line (or a great distance) between “curtain twitching” and actual action. I find myself in a somewhat similar situation in that a friend of mine is contravening certainly the spirit of the rules on lockdown if not the actual letter of the rules. I don’t know what I should say to him further than my sarcastic comments so far. One doesn’t want to antagonise or lose a friendship (of many years) and so I am doing what you yourself usually preach: If in doubt, do nowt.
