Bought some PLUS (my daily favourite). IG wouldn't give me a quoted price so I used my trick of setting a limit buy at halfway through the spread, it worked.

Bought a tranche of CCL at 898 and IAG at 179, think I may have jumped in too soon

I should add that I appreciate all of the postings on this tread. It is important to hear about the regretted decisions as well as the successes to get a balanced view. That's it, I have finished, got to get ready to (try) and make a little more profit.

This thread got started as a means to share tips and opinions, personally I think it is quite sucessful in that. To offer advice is a little heavier and can have consequences. We trust each other here to be as honest and candid as possible and again, I think it is quite sucessful. We share a common agenda: to make money. Obviously we differ in techniques we use, shares we favour and follow etc.
Advice is just that and it is to be weighed along with ones own thoughts and feelings. Some of the decisions I make are quite reckless and I couldn't advise anyone to follow them. Some work, others don't and I would be ashamed to talk about them. (Don't get me started on CLLN!). I
What I am trying to say is this money making stuff is heavy but we have to lighten up, accept advice at face value. We are in it together and trying to share what we have learnt. It amazes me how different our methods are.
Monday and yesterday I had a panic as I couldn't find my notes from last Friday, I was going up the wall looking for them. I saw it as a disaster, my partner finally took charge and within 2 minutes, found the solution: The market was closed last Friday. Ha. All this at a time when real disasters are going on. I agree with T comments. I was continually worried that OCDO was going to drop like a stone although I was still trading it up until 1838p. I remember all too well getting stuck with a large tranche of OCDO at about 1510p. In truth, I was only stuck for about 2 weeks as I subsequently bought more much lower and averaged down but I did lose the trading power of the money for a couple of weeks.
I am in awe of the people who have held on and now have great value in this share. Envious really. I suppose this just underscores the difference between day traders and medium/long term investors. A long term investor cannot get "stuck" in the share, he is there for the duration which, yes, occaisionally includes a period of retracement. Long term investment isn't so very bad. I always intended to split my holding in OCDO (and two or three other spares), trade say, half and just keep the other half as a longer term investment. I think that idea lasted about two weeks. Ha, the joys of trading.

Ordinarily I woyld say NEVER buy into a fast rising share but I have done it once or twice, there always seem to be exceptions to the rule.

Sold CCL at 941, after seeing 970, I wanted to be sure of some profit on it.

This is not a recommendation to buy but the £20 level for OCDO is quite a milestone. I used to "play" with shares when they were transitioning a significant "round" number, I would see the round number (more significant I think than a resistance level) tested several times then suddenly it wold be seriously busted as the share shot up through.

Sold PLUS earlier, profit but small profit. Bought MCRO at 444

V: yes, still there with GGP. I am holding for much more capital growth (or a takeover I suppose).
I noticed DGE getting high and thought of you, pity we were both out by then. Onward and upward as they say

True, I am making more as I have become less emotionally attached to a share and prepared to sell (at a loss) to buy back in cheaper. It is hard not to make money in a rising market, the trick is to minimise losses as shares go down or even make profit but trading on the small spikes/shakes as a share goes down.
Ordinarily I would be in france at the moment and not sitting on the computer nearly all the time. I took the view during lockdown that I might as well concentrate on it and try to make some money. Nearly every week I have made my target, it is usually between 2 x and 8 x my target (except for 2 embarrassing occaisions when I took profits from NCYT and the multiple was very high). I think this "success" is down to trading spikes and shakes but also working at it every day.

Incidentally, IAG seems to be an echo of EZJ trend and slightly behind it unless I am imagining things.
PETS I have never really looked at but I used to know somebody that seeed to trade them all the time.
I would probably be buying MCRO now but I am out of funds. CCL are nicely placed for the US open.

G: you have to do what you are comfortable with. I have been trading IAG this morning using only 2000 shares (£3660) and in 3 trades have made £157+£62+£45 so that's about 7% I think. Ordinarily I invest much more in a share (except when I first invest in an AIM share). I am trading PLUS (another non stampy) with a much bigger holding in two tranches and usually make 1 or 2 profitable trades a day. (I have a few other shares which I don't trade as often, CCL, ASC, FEVR and usually MCRO and OCDO but am out of these 2 at the moment. I am also sad at missing opportunities in OCDO and MACRO but as long as I am making a profit somewhere I am moving forward

Rebought IAG. Only just realised that it is a non-stampy share. Oh dear, IAG! where have you been all my life?

Sold IAG, took some profit, about 1.8%. Happy to rebuy.

I am revising my estimate for IAG today, now I think they could see 188p, Ryanair are up 3% and EZJ up 2.2%.
Yes, I was looking wistfully at MCRO too. They are up 7% today but have just come off their top to 477 but dont have the confidence to buy them right now. Oh dear IAG falling a bit, T line indicated sell at 184.6 on 10min chart. Oh err sell or hold?

I think IAG will get to at least par or +1% today, say 186p. More clarification (or a backtrack) by government on quarantine will obviously only help them.
On NCYT dont worry, I have had 2 shed loads of profit out of them plus my shares are in nice profit. They are making/selling a test for CoronaVirus which will still be needed beyond any vaccine/cure. However, it is an AIM stock and private investors are liable to sell and run away at any new developments so I expect it to fluctuate. Out of character for me but I am a long term holder here (at least for now). Also long term holder of HEMO (up another 10% today), GGP and RENE.
10 minute chart T line is indicating a sell for CCL but I am holding.

That sounds like good promising news. We need that.
I did get back onto the CCL gravy train at 926. US future on CCL is -2.24% which is roughly in line with where we are. Just looked again and its now -0.9%. Good Oh

Yes, 5% rise on MCRO was shouting out to be cashed in. Have just bought IAG at 178, they look to be a better bet today at -3.6% than EZJ at +1%. Was dithering over buying CCL at 916, dithered too long, they are 928 now. Doh.

sold MCRO, perhaps too early.
