I beieve the recent increase in HGM share price has been down to a drop in rouble value.

Two external factors play a big influence here. 1. The gold price 2. The dollar to rouble rate While gold is down it it still well up on the averave price received by HGM last year The production costs are mainly in roubles. These should be significantly lower when converted into roubles

Does anyone know if Vin has bought in and at what price? The rns says 2.5 to 5p but cant inagine it will be that low now? Perhaps a 10p buy in? Would give us more capital and less dilution.

Probably the reason for the strong price rise last week.

Another short term benefit will be that the company will pay no tax on profit for a few years. That will really help. Any additional borrowing converts at 32p a share.

Maybe today? Solid buying in the same pattern as In March so looks like stake accumulating. As well as the rising iodine price amd increasing profit the company must consider loan conversion. At current dollar pound rate it would be under 60m shares. They need to clear the debt one way or another to set this company up for high profit and high dividends. The share price is unlikely to be anywhere around this price at the end of this FY.

That was against a backdrop of very low iodine prices. These shares move quickly when prices rise.

Just a modest 12% change in all 3 will be like an increase of PBT equal to 40% of revenue. Maybe as much as $8m. Not expecting that for last year which had a slow start, but certainly for this year, with more to come next year. By the end of next year yoj mah have your target and more.

Has been a little busy. Probably our large holder accumulating. At least that 600k share purchase hasnt been hidden by the MM

No but looks like a major shareholder has emerged. Have patience, the big one is coming.

I notice that the MM are holding up releasing the large orders until they are filled. IMO this is like insider dealing as they are not disclosing information when they have it, to gain an advantage.

Factor in 1. Long term trend for iodine prices is up after reaching a low that was not sustainable 2. Global market demand increasing at 6% pa 3. Iofina cost of production falling 4. Weak dollar means highly competitive production in a global market 5. Main competitors are japan and chile. Mining operations are decreasing in chile as not profitable at this iodine price. 6. Sales of high margin derivatives from the production process increasing DYOR

With magical figures this will hit 40p LOL

Ive seen the price rise after initial interest many times. The two key factors are, firstly, will the hill family sell at this price and secondly, how can the price move towards the "offer" in zero volume? Luckily i have very little left in here so no longer a concern.

Maybe. Feels a bit like a game of "chicken". No volume. Anyone wanting to do a takeover will want to build a stake. But who will sell in any volume? Who will buy for short term gamble? Stalemate unless a decent offer materialises. Hills have bought in at 1.7p ish, Cooper thinks his stake is worth a lot more. You can be sure there will be dealings to come behind closed doors.

You have to ask what the Hill family have invested for with an average around 1.7p so far. Takeover or investment? I agree with the 3p to 5p range and expect news very soon. Not one to be out of over the weekend, wink wink

The best part of the update was the confirmation that iodine prices continue to rise. The report i have indiates that prices will continue to rise for the next 3 years. So this share is similar to HGM which fell to a low when gold crashed and rose 6x on a gold price recovery. DYOR
