Looks like China is monopolising gold. It could come to a point where they are setting the price. Short term it feels like a bull run in progress.

Millennium have been slowly reducing their slightly bonkers short on HGM. They could be experiencing some competition when trying to close out. A slight squeeze is possibly being played out

Nice day for another hike in the gold price.

Half year results out. Key factor for me is EPS at 12.5c for 6 months against a full year in 2018 of 15.6c. That's with gold at $1307 average. Gold now over $200 /oz higher and rising.

Closing in on the 7 year high price of gold. Next step $1600. The gold bulls are targeting $5000.

Gold hit a new 7 year high on Monday at $1,557 /oz. Only a matter of time before we go past the all time High.

Looks like gold is going past it's 3 year high soon. Probably before trading in HGM reopens on Tuesday.

Gold price moving up again.

Very strange that the price of this has dipped by 10% as we almost touched 240p when gold moved to $1500 oz. Gold consolidating at this price should see us in the range £2.60 to £3.00, with a dividend of over 6% for this year. Can't be too bad! DyOR

I see a bit of profit taking here. Hope you're lucky, because every time I take profit this rises again. Anyway, in a hold and add right now. Reasons:
1. Gold price risen over 15% and looks like it is breaking out. Currently PBT should be up by 50% from mid June onwards.
2. Dividends that drive the share price should rise. Perhaps in a few weeks when the next dividend is announced.
3. Weakness of the pound against the dollar. Revenue in dollars, share price in pounds. The weak pound has added another 15% to the share price here since Brexit announced. This is a key Brexit hedge play.

Looking like this leg up will take us close to $1600 an oz fairly quickly. The economic situation is not going to change soon, so we could easily see a challenge to $2,000 an oz. Or am j just dreaming?

Gold just broke 100,000 roubles an oz.

Late buying spree perhaps. Limited supply. Results Sept and we may make a profit after tax.

During the last significant rally this went from 40p to £2 quite quickly. We stuck around the £1.50 mark for a few years, so you can only guess where a gold price in excess of $1600 per oz could take us. I am not particularly surprised by the slow but persistent rise in the share price. It's exactly what happened last time.

Anyone who thinks BoJo will deliver Brexit is living in cloud Cuckoo land. Reason: the majority of self centred MPs don't want it. He will need to win a majority in an election. Then the elected MPs will then magically want Brexit.

So Stenna, who know this company very well and hold the debt are still selling? I'm suspicious and a little worried.

However, perhaps they just dont want to get involved in CBD?

I like to calculate break even against PBT as zero, its a conservative view. As we consolidate here, then £2.40 looks like it will be the average share price.

Obviously, there are many factors here that may move the share price. Overall though, it a great performer.

Can't see it falling below £2 a share if gold stays above $1400 and there are no "surprises" from Russia.
