Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
I hope that the granting of the mining license is not built into the current SP as the DFS seems to have been. Or are the buys and sells just the same old 20-30 PIs (like me) who are not going to move the needle anyway. We need to get some publicity and a lot more liquidity - Mines and Money?
A very pragmatic RNS. You're right nicpic, no spin which serves to validate the quality and integrity of the management team. Overall, very good news. We are away!
I heard its quiet in BKK from colleagues there. I'm in Jakarta today - big contrast then - very busy and bullish atmosphere here.
Not a bad day at all. Let's get 0.75 behind us now ... Cause for some optimism anyway.
Oops, not a great Friday, no apparent reason though.
We should push on very soon. Maybe time for another wee top up. JP
And without any new being released, or am I missing something? Certainly no RNS.
Come on North Rivers you old blaady dog! It is really hard being a holder here. Gotta have a vent! NEWS, NEWS, NEWS, PLEEEAASSEE JP
After doing a bit of diligence, I expect that it's best to come back in 12 months and then check again whether this is worth a long odds punt. JP
Perfect storm of economic and political unrest in Russia, political unrest in Hong Kong and anti-ostentation and anti corrupt practice in China? There is a special Watches and Jewellery report in the FT Weekend this weekend - talks about this, but also very positively about Faberge! Highly recommended that interested PIs buy a copy and digest! Good luck to all.
"The Group will announce its results for the financial year to 30 September 2014 on Wednesday 19 November 2014. " Expect the SP to fall after the results are announced (significantly above market expectations - so no surprise there) since the old psychology will come into play - things are really good, it can only get worse. Sell! The tihng is, personally, I think it will keep on getting better. My guess would be a dip into AVON in the last days of November will prove very profitable. All IMHO.
Canaccord are the optimistic ones on PDL. Bodes well?
RNS http://www.lse.co.uk/share-regulatory-news.asp?shareprice=BAO&ArticleCode=jppjolxl&ArticleHeadline=Appointment_of_Broker_and_Nomad Well I see that as positive rather than a negative. SP should fall accordingly :-)
They are falling behind schedule and no one likes that dornod. PIs who bought in at 6-7p are bailing.
Competition. Darned spell check in iPad.
The question is - how much is the company worth? Today the answer is £17 million. Is it worth more, or less, in future? What is the completion doing? This is the bothersome part.
My experience of investing in crises companies has not been great - they don't all regress to the mean. My personal preference is for companies that are doing well against the competition, and I think Tesco's competitive landscape looks harsh for them. While you're in Thailand drop into a Tesco Lotus - you will see how the brand is interpreted there, very differently to the core business in UK. I will not be betting my hard earned on Tesco's future. Enjoy your visit! I will be there with the family over Christmas and New Year for our jolly. I still rate ANW as a BUY as of today.
We can see from the last to broker estimates of 255p and 155p that 2 bunches of industry professionals value the company vastly differently. The 155p is the safer bet and even if it goes to 204p Panmure will still be "more right" than Cannacord. Ignore them both IMO.
Hi Trman. I think it's a case of "this is great news, it can only get worse in future", or conversely "things are really bad at company xyz, things can only get better in future". As a rule, this is correct thinking and is known in statistics and psychology as Regression to Mean. In other words, the gravitational pull of the average. The trick is to find the exceptions whereby things do actually keep getting better for a longish period - these are "exceptional companies" a term we all hear but don't think too much about what it means.
