RE: Open offer29 Nov 2018 08:39
I queried the timing of the placing when it was announced. They obviously felt Wressle would fail (looking at the wording of the RNS again tells me that), and they need the placing funds in order to progress the farm out.
The share price has dropped because of Wressle, which is exactly what they expected, so they got the placing done first. The open offer funds (if enough) are to fund the least essential work, and may have been included to allow shareholders a chance to buy cheap shares, which had Wressle succeeded, they certainly would have been. I was going to buy in the open offer if Wressle passed, obviously. Who wouldn't want to buy shares already valued at 5p for 3p, but I have been very happy to take advantage of this lower price instead.
As CCF pointed out, they got institutional investors to part with £4m @ 3p. The instis are not going to do that without seeing something very attractive.
