Gwynwin, I'm sure I signed one of these about 18 months ago for exactly this cause, which got a few hundred signatures (700 odd I believe). I just don't think we'd get anywhere near the numbers needed.

What I do find incredible, is that investors will spend a number of hours a day on a bulletin board, but they won't spend 10 minutes emailing the minister for energy (or their shadow representative), contacting UKOOG or OGA, or submitting a comment for a planning application.

What I find extraordinary, is that even though the councillors were told by the council lawyer in no uncertain terms that deferment on the basis for the need for further investigation on the risks of earthquakes being caused by drilling was not within the remit of the planning committee, and could therefore lead to massive costs being incurred by the council on appeal, yet 4 of the 10 were still prepared to go against the legal advice and risk millions of pounds of public money. I wonder what tax payers would think if they knew.

Further to my previous post, I understand only 5 planning committee members were present to vote (although other councillors spoke in opposition) - all declared they were members of the Unite Union. Refusal was unanimous.

Eldorado, personally I don't take too much notice of the herd mentality, but each to their own. Institutional investors will be the ones moving this share price to it's full potential, not private investors in my opinion, so if people aren't prepared to wait and want immediate profit, that's their prerogative - it makes no odds to me. This company is sound and I believe can afford to wait as long as is necessary.

First you are saying Wressle should have taken priority, then you say it should have been Biscathorpe!

Good post Mix. This situation IS NOT the fault of this company. It is because of a bunch of people who put their own ego's ahead of their country - and that goes for the councillors, the Union reps and the 'keep it in the ground' muppets.

The government want domestic onshore O&G production, so Wressle WILL happen, whether these smug ***** like it or not. IMO etc. etc.

It's a bit rude when you're not a shareholder to go on to a bb and sIag peoples investments off, pc.

Mind you if a really great deal came up, I would want DB to go for it, whatever form of raising funds was necessary. Apart from that, there will definitely be no placing because there is plenty of cash for our commitments.

I think it is worth pointing out that the far left are making a concerted effort to flood council committees with members of the Unite Union. They are in place to carry out Union policies, not adhere to government guidelines on planning decision-making. I think 'old school' Labour voters would be very surprised what is going on. The Labour Party are being taken over by the far left - look at what will be happening to the PLP come the next election. I hope our onshore planning issues will be dealt with well before the next Labour government takes office!

I think it is obvious that the government will be deciding the production application as the council will throw it out, and the government have made it quite clear they want to encourage onshore oil and gas production. There is nothing about Wressle that makes production more difficult than anywhere else in the country, so I am confident it will be passed.

But it may now take another 6 months or so. In the meantime we have the Biscathorpe spud and anything else DB has up his sleeve. It just provides a great buying opportunity in my opinion.

Indeed Don. It has been mentioned by a number of posters on here that the main application is still to come - probably October.
They won't start reinstatement yet because they are appealing yesterday's decision.

Imagine the costs if Egdon's October application for production is refused so they reinstate to open field, then win the production application on appeal Q2 2019, and have to re-build the wellsite. Today's decision would cost the council hundreds of thousands and make the planning committee look like a bunch of short-sighted little Hitlers.
