Whatever valuation methodology was used and what they came up we will never know as LL said.
We did get an insight into the Vulpes due diligence when they invested, the 12 months spent on it.
Redmile will have their own team, scientists assessing the chances of success, and financial analysts assessing the potential rewards. They may well have shared research with Vulpes and TD.
The valuation would be a very wide range based on loads of assumptions.

I think we should be confident that the progress towards the treatment and cure of Cancer by Scancell continues in spite of everything.
The only thing that has slowed is the criteria by which the markets values us.
Not particularly relevant in the grand scheme of things.

Yes I remember you talking about Wacokid, such a shock and so sad.
The only agenda we have is seeing an improvement in cancer outcomes and if we do, maybe making a few quid. I'd happily write off my entire investment if it meant one life was saved.

I enjoyed your reminder of past posters. I always think the worst when people disappear off the radar and worry what may have happened to them. Some sadly are no longer with us so it is somewhat reassuring when others pop up again even if it is with a different nickname.
I think many are over paranoid about who may be who. I'm sure 99% are pure speculation and paranoia. In fact it's not rocket science to work out who's not who.

No I didn't save the link. It was early on as I said. I have definitely got it the right way round but it had something to do with cytokine storm. I think early on this was thought more imp0ortant than is understood now.

I did read an article early on in the pandemic that said people who had had the annual flu jab seemed to be more at risk of having a severe reaction to Covid. I'm pretty sure it was a scientific paper not just anti-vas propaganda.
I took it seriously enough to consider whether I should have my annual jab this year.

So yardstick's observation "that's a lot of red" holds true. He is talking about the proportion of red compared to blue, not the scale of red. There could be 1000 trades and 50% red, we'd all be more relaxed even though the scale of sell off (500) is greater than today's (11).
Are we bothered about 11 sells? No.

My lack of immunity was put down to the fact I was very premature and the fact I was kept isolated for the first few months of my life, not even my mother was allowed to hold me :(
I have never had shingles even though I have come into contact with people having it many times.

The forth time I got it I gave up on conventional medicine and went to see a witch doctor. He said the only cure was to boil up my best friend and make a lotion from him. Reluctantly, I did it and haven't had a problem since. I bumped into the witch doctor some years later and told him it had worked. I asked if the cure had a name. Yes he said - Pal o' mine lotion!

Sorry, couldn't resist throwing that one in. I have actually had chicken pox four times - so everything apart from the jokeis true.

I had no immunity as a child and caught everything going. Apart from colds, flu and pneumonia chicken pox was the only thing I have had multiple times. Fortunately I seem to have acquired a more robust immune system in later life - from about 50ish. The annual flu jab help0s as well!

I've had chicken pox 4 times. The second time, the doctor said "it looks just like chicken pox but can't be because you've already had it". He diagnosed it as hay fever before finally conceding it was chicken pox. The third time I had it, he said "well seeing as though you've had chicken pox twice, there's no reason why you can't get it a third time".

Jonathan van Tam just finished a lengthy interview on BBC. Worth a listen if you missed it. Talked in depth about the vaccine testing groups and challenges with storage and distribution.

AB, I agree (again!) that the logistical challenges need to be solved. If it was the only likely vaccine we would just be getting on with it, not discussing it as a insolvable problem.

I would think that if pre-clinical data suggests enough optimism to support trials of Coviditiy the SP should jump a fair bit. If ever it got regulatory approval..... !!

Forget Scancell, finding a solution to this global crisis is far more important than one company.
If Scancell can contribute to the final, long-term solution - great!
An effective treatment benefits Scancell anyway - they may be able to get there trials back on track and concentrate on what they are good at - cancer treatments.

Yes, it is rather surprising. All I can say is we've all been glued to our TVs listening to the ground breaking news and been too preoccupied to post.
It is great news for humanity. I know it is only one vaccine and it has some logistical challenges but it makes the approval of more vaccines down the line that more likely.
