4. Over 70s plus extremely clinically vulnerable
5. Over 65s
6. 16-64 with underlying health conditions
7. Over 60s
8. Over 55s
9. Over 50s

So your number 4, I'm number 7.

I think the recent information on the new variant is a bigger driver than the Vulpes buys.
People are coming to the realisation that we need vaccines that are more effective, can be rolled out quicker and protect against the virus even if it mutates. Enter Covidity.
Also, the government has expressed an intention to invest in UK life sciences to counter the economic effect of Brexit as well as address the Covid problems.

Yes, I believe the latest news has been a bigger driver than the Vulpes buys. The new mutation has raised questions about whether the current vaccines will be effective or as effective. We are told that they should work but of course there is a doubt and even if they do, there may be further mutations where they won't.
There is now an urgent need for vaccines that 1) can be rolled out quicker, 2) protect against mutations 3) give longer term protection (such as Covidity).
Also, the government has stated a desire to kick start our life science industry to counter the economic impact of Brexit.
So a lot happening, enjoy the rise.

If have two vaccines that are both 90% effective then in combination what is the likely percent effective. If both vaccines fail to work in the same 10%, the overall will still be 90%.
If however the 10% in one group is a completely different 10% then the overall effectiveness will be 100%.
So my question was/is which is the more likely, 90%, 100% or somewhere in between.
I though it's worth raising again as a lot has happened in between.
I think the answer will be different if you are talking two first generation vaccines and one first and one second generation vaccines. Or even two second generation vaccines when we get there!

Bermuda, I raised the question of whether vaccines could be used in combination a while back and you kindly gave your thoughts.
I think it's worth repeating the full quote from LD:

"We are very excited about our SN14 second generation COVID-19 vaccine which could have significant advantages over first generation vaccines, either on its own or in combination with other vaccines to broaden and strengthen the immune response for long term protection."

So quite a few different scenarios.
First generation vaccines don't give long term protection, along come the second generation.
Combinations of vaccines increase efficacy and/or protection time.
When I read the RNS it became apparent that there is definitely a place for Covidity and possibly a big one at that.

Totally with you there. I invested my new bathroom funds in Scancell way back in time. As it turns out, you get just as clean in a 1980s mimosa yellow bath as you do in a white one lol. Got big plans myself for when this comes good.
Sounds like you have managed a similar average to me 13p in my Sipp 14p in the ISA.

I have to agree, all the factors are aligning for a bit of a bounce. How big remains to be seen but I expect a further rise next week as people catch up to what's going on here. 16p by Xmas doesn't seem impossible, further news even higher!

A number of people have been implying that Redmile and Vulpes have invested at 13p.
This is just not true and misleading. They may have participated in the OO like many of us did but this is only a fraction of total investment. Redmile have bought at an average of 10.6p and Vulpes much lower than that. I can work it out if anyone is interested but their big purchases were at 5p and 5.5p so I would guess their average is around 6p.

I agree, should make +20% today at some point.
Be nice if it could hold it.

Tend to agree with your summing up as twaddle. It certainly is as a means of forecasting future prices but as AB and you say, if enough people believe twaddle you can probably use that fact to your advantage.

I think we have talked before, I develop software that does finished goods forecasts - very predictable. All forecasts are based on past history, using daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, 5 yearly averages. To these are applied a trend. The trend could be assessed over short term or long term.

Anyway, enough of that, are you still developing in that obscure language? (Was it M9?)
