I think you may be right there (about blue tomorrow). I did buy a few yesterday and when I got up (at 08:33) saw there was an RNS and we were 10% down I worried what on earth it could be.
Turns out it's what we were told months ago, not a surprise. The news was no reason for a fall in SP, only the botched wording caused this.
There are many positives. It's like you've agreed to lease you house to someone but they prevaricate for months. When they finally tell you they are pulling out you have the option of finding better tenants, put it on the market or go and live there yourself.

This has got every chance of finishing unchanged on the day, possibly even blue.
Most of the comments on here today have been spot on, so I'm not sure why you are trying to connect the two?

Why would they care that PIs taking part in the OO are out of pocket?

Seems there is a agreement (on both boards) that this was a dreadful RNS. It could have easily been given a positive spin.
Imagine if this news was broken when we DIDN'T have the recently secured cash pile - there would have been carnage. At least now the options of funding a trial in house is an option.

Unfortunately, even though there are legitimate financial reasons in the current Covid afflicted world, there will always be the nagging question why Scancell/SCIB2. Did CRUK deem it as having less chance of success than others? Maybe it was the lucrative commercial value of a NSCLC treatment that they thought it could secure commercial financial backing leaving CRUK to progress the targets that do not attract the big funding.
This is where knowledge of the company and the treatments benefit investors. We can possibly see the benefits that were failed to be mentioned in the RNS. A good buying opportunity perhaps?

C11, as Wild said earlier, it will down to the ingenuity of the scientists not the plushness of the premises.
Scancell's success will be entirely down to Scancell, there will be room for a hundred vaccines if they can be developed and proved successful. I sincerely hope we (and others) do succeed.

Did you see the item on BBC look east about the Cambridge firm making a second generation Covid vaccine?
I don't think it made the national news so some here may be unaware. I guess it was the same for Scancell when they made the Nottingham local news but not national.

Well I totally agree with you there. I thought we had got away with the lack of any new news in Fridays interim results RNS. But no, cliff had to do a presentation reinforcing the fact there is no news.
8p before 30p? Not sure about that but we are back to OO price. I might be tempted to get the cheque book out below 12p.

I'm not sure there's much to expand on but I will give it a go.
We have the issue of 1st gen vs 2nd gen vaccines. I think the overriding objective of the 1st gen vaccines was speed. They achieved that and in the process managed to get good efficacy as well. Why would 2nd gen vaccines take longer? Well, they wont necessarily, but, there is little point rushing out a second generation vaccine that is only as good as the 1 gen vaccines already out there. Better to take the time to get better efficacy, longer lasting and be effective against future variants.

The second issue is Scancell's 2nd gen MK1 vaccine (SN14) vs their 2nd gen MK2 vaccine (SN15). It has been some time since we were told that SN14 had been selected as the preferred candidate. Presumably since then a lot of effort has gone into developing/testing SN14. his work will have to be done again for SN15 don't you think?
It wasn't long ago that LD was extolling the virtues of SN14 and using a Modified-Fc. SN15 uses a Monomer rather than Modified Fc. So it's not as cut and dry as some may think. Have a look at the excellent link Miavoce posted earlier, 28 minutes in.

Ditto. Been expecting the unexpected for years. No unexpected as yet, just the expected as expected.
So we are working on a MK2 of a second generation Covid vaccine - SCOV1. Thats going to take time.

Well just had my cheese (creamy blue cheese ) and crackers for supper.

What do you think about the significance of SCOV1? End of the road for SN14?

So SN14 is "Covidity" and SN15 "SCOV1"
Why not SCOV1/SCOV2? Or does this mean the end of the road for SN14

A good analogy in principle. I think the reality is would you want two elderly grandparents (parents in my case!) to both to receive TWO doses (as per the manufacturers instructions) or give the second dose to two less at risk?
