No, I haven’t got my cash back yet. I did get a lot of shares (because I asked for so many) so only 40% of the cash is due anyway.

Same here, 61.16 and 61.19% in the two accounts with Halifax.
I went for 10 times my entitlement and got 6 times!

Your 21:34.. sums up my feelings exactly. I did hold back commenting as I’m always the one being no labelled negative. Unfortunately, I found the presentation lack lustre, uninspiring with absolutely nothing we didn’t already know. As to how £50m is to be used... the same single sentence contained in the RNS from two weeks ago.
Tell us something we don’t know..... we all know the havoc wreaked by Covid, there’s probably not one of us suffering the impact in one way or another.

Ivy, as for low expectations: well, as even a small Biotech struggling for funds my expectations have always been high. How much more so with £50m in the bank and the backing of a major investor?
It was interesting to hear Sally Adams say that trials could resume so long as the appropriate protocols are in place - so let’s get them in place and get started!

My hope is that the money will be well spent. My fear is it will be burned through in two years with limited progress requiring a further £100m by then. Dare I mention dilution?

Yes, really can’t wait for the next comprehensive update from Scancell. I suspect there will be a lot of focus on Covidity given the grave global situation. I think if Prof Durrant and team can contribute to finding a solution, I think they are morally bound to do so irrespective of any financial incentive. I hope there will be progress to report and that we have an optimistic outlook.

It is of course true that there will always be unforeseen circumstances that will affect plans. This is why it is important to consider IN ADVANCE what could go wrong (ie, what are the RISKS?)
Having identified that potential areas of risk, how are we going to mitigate against them. What CONTINGENCY will be put in place so that the deadlines will still be met?
So, when deadlines are failed to be met it because
1) The deadlines were unrealistic/ill thought through
2) Inadequate performance
3) Unforeseen events - as in the case of Covid

I'm hoping for some revised, realistic, achievable, fully costed plans at the presentation!

Totally agree, worth repeating I thought!

It is true we have had plenty of timeline charts. I think the communication could have been better perhaps and more diligent. For example, the TD report with timelines two years out of date at the time of issue was unforgiveable. The other criticism I have is timeliness of communication - if things ARE going to be delayed we need to know straight away. We should know WHY things are delayed, what the revised plans are and HOW we plan to meet them.

We have gone from a market cap of of £20M in April to £126M today. With a bit of luck, we could be £200M in the next few months - we have to up our game. If we want to be one of the big boys we need to start acting like one of the big boys.

I hope the money will be spent on commercialising the existing pipeline, prioritising those products at the most advanced stage - SCIB1, SCIB2, MODI1. We need these in the clinic, in trials and in patients. Obviously, the research goes on and this will require some of the funds, but certainly not the Lion's share.

I am looking forward to the presentation, who knows, maybe a surprise or two?

Thanks for your concern violin, the way I put it yesterday made it sound more serious than it was. I have been treated for sciatic for 5 months, I finally get a telephone consultation on 16th November. On top of this I have had tummy troubles, possibly from the medication (aspirin) or the sciatica itself. I was particularly bad yesterday, possibly exacerbated by jumping out of bed at 6:00am to respond to my 96 year old father in laws distress call. Once he was in the ambulance, I rang my GP to see if I could get an appointment, it was they who told me to ring 111. Once 111 had done the assessment, they sent it to the GP and I was seen later that day. I hadn’t been physically seen by a doctor since June - yesterday I got two! I won’t bore you all with the diagnosis but I am OK and far more reassured having seen someone in person.

We are where we are now, and regardless of where we were on the fence before, I think we have to acknowledge that Scancell are in a better position than they have been for years.
No one could have seen The Covid situation coming and predicted the devastating effects. The uncertainty of its future effects perhaps were behind the decision to make sure there was a big cash pile. This provides not only insurance but funds to possibly find a cure for the very thing being insured. As I said before, trials may have slowed or even stopped but the Scancell machine rolls on.

I know exactly what you mean, 2020 a total write off and when you don’t know how many years you’ve got could be significant. Sorry, that’s even more depressing than the way you put it!
Dispatched my father in law off in an ambulance at 8:00am, calling 111 about myself at 10:30 - such is life at the moment. Didn’t pick up on the RNS until a while after, glad it went through in the end, I guess it was close, how close well never know.
Personally, I’m not comfortable with painting Vulpes as the villains of the piece (C7 please note :) ), I think their investment when they did was much needed and I will always appreciate that. I do hope we enjoy their continued support for many years to come.
So we have seen tangible progress on the financial side. Rest assured behind the closed doors and face masks at the Scancell laboratories, progress will also be being made.
