I can see where you are coming from. It is a small percentage difference 70% to 75% is just 5%. PIs hold 60% so should be easy? No. If the PI vote is split 50/50 and there was a 100% turnout, the votes would actually drop from 70%. It all depends on turnout and what the for/against split is.
Not a fore gone conclusion imo.

A good couple of days on the BB. Good to see some lively debate, lots of different points of view put forward with not too much abuse and personals. Lots to take in at the moment which is why all opinions should be welcomed.
Knowlesi, you have given yourself plenty of wriggle room lol! 21.9p IS closer to 4p than it is to 40p. So what? 22p isn’t that bad compared to where we are.
GF, I’m not sure you can say with any certainty the resolutions will be passed or the market cap will stay roughly the same. I don’t think any of us know do we?
I still haven’t made my mind up which way to vote, maybe I’m too late already?

There will probably be a different reason for each seller.
Perhaps they bought at 16p and have set a stop loss to cap their losses
Perhaps they bought at 6p and are locking in profits
Perhaps they think the share will fall further and buy back cheaper
Perhaps they are spooked by the corporate shenanigans

If Redmile converted in order to breach the 30% threshold, the offer would have to be 6.2p wouldn’t it?

There’s no guarantee that extra cash will speed up anything. At the moment trials are stopped and going nowhere.

You both make valid points. The extra cash may well speed up results and trial data but whether that early data is then used to monetise the asset(s) is a different decision. Vulpes may want to make a quick buck on early trial data whereas Redmile may want a slower but bigger buck.

In terms of extending the timeframe for expectations you have to have some sympathy for Calculus who must have been expecting an earlier return.

The other thought I had was..

Why don’t the directors take up all their share options - that’s another 30 million votes for the yes campaign.

I believe the number of votes would be whatever you had when you submitted them (within the dead line)

As a shareholder I do not have at this moment in time enough information to cast an informed vote (a bit like Brexit).
Surely, as a number suggested yesterday, this vote needs to be postponed until after the AGM where the Redmile case can be presented and shareholders have the opportunity to pose questions.
The thing I haven’t quite worked out is whether the Vulpes block is for the benefit of Vulpes or whether it is for the benefit of smaller shareholders in general.
If the vote does go ahead on the 3rd November I urge all to consider the case for and against.

It doesn’t sit well with me. It’s a bit like the case for a second referendum - keep going until you get the result you want. In a general election you can’t call for another simply because your party had a poor turnout.

In any case, if the PI vote is split 50/50, the proposal will not be carried.

Thanks for explaining that, that's reassuring. I didn't think it was as high as 90% though, I thought majority 51% would be enough.

Even so, I think we should all think carefully about which way we vote. The deadline is 3rd November (I believe) so plenty of time to debate. As has been said by many this morning, we really should be given more information on the pro's and cons.

What exactly is all this money for?
Why is a major shareholder opposed?
What's to stop Redmile converting the August CLN's, getting to 30% and buying the company for 17p/share (highest price the last 12 months)?

So let's just think about this.

I think you are right! Let’s hope attitudes toward supporting and funding finding cures for global diseases changes drastically. When you think Scancell have scratched around to raise a few million when they may hold the key to treating 10 or more cancers over the past decade it’s tragic.
