If you believe the potential (see my earlier figures) it makes little difference whether we are 19p,18p or 21p.
If it drops, buy more or just hold. This is certainly no time to be selling IMO.

I'd suspect not. You'd really want time for people to digest the news and act on it. With the market soon closed for 4 and a bit days it's probably not the ideal time.

Yes, we will obviously need to partner. There may be a financial case for going it alone but this would simply take far too long and meanwhile people are dying and economies are being wrecked.

At this early stage, we would need substantial support and this would be reflected in the royalty share we receive. Even so, the figures are eye watering (or mouth watering!)

The global Covid19 vaccine market is projected to be worth $150B per year.
Let's be ultra conservative on the projections and call it $100B per year.
We get 5% of that market and a 10% royalty on those sales = $500M/£378M per year
Using 915M shares in issue, that is an earning of 38p per share.
So, lets say LD wants to retain 50% for further research, they could pay a 19p dividend per share (a 100% return on todays SP).
Or, using a PE of 10, you could sell your shares for £3.80 each.
Even if you factor in a risk factor of 10%, these ought to be trading at 38p today. That's on Covidity alone!

The BBC news is appalling- you can't even call it news. Most of the time is spent promoting programs, sensationalism, creating fear and uncertainty, trying to trip up politicians and being generally obnoxious. They are quickly becoming the gutter press of media.

Spot on, modelling would be much more appropriate.
Machine learning needs lots of data so would take many years to gather enough information.
Although I do find the term "machine learning" has been hijacked by companies whose systems are merely performing basic program logic.

You are course more than entitled to draw your own conclusions about the level of danger posed by the new (and future) variant(s). Also, you have your own opinion on the contribution Covid vaccines to humanity and commerce.
Having done that, you can make your own investment decisions - as indeed you do!

If however you say anything other than Scancell has the answer to all the world's ills and this will make £8 per share - prepare to be attacked!

I was pondering this yesterday - it's a good question. Here are some possibilities.

Their concern is merely cautionary as we just don't know yet whether it is more transmissible, evades the current vaccines or causes more severe illness. (any one of these would be a cause for concern)

Do they know something that we are not being told?

Is it being ultra-cautious as last time with the delta variant the government acted far too slowly.

However, if it is known or suspected of evading current vaccines, why the ramp up on booster jabs that are only effective against the alpha to delta strains?

Just to add, it was found that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were more effective as a booster jab than the Astra-Zeneca regardless of what the initial two doses were. So you are probably better off with Pfizer+Pfizer booster than Pfizer+Astra-Z
