Well there are a number of factors with Japan.

They have the lowest obesity rate in the world. This may suggest other health benefits come into play - diet for instance.
When I worked a Nissan many years ago, if you had a cold you wore a mask - this was the custom.
So they probably already had behaviour that was compatible with infection control and social distancing.
There may be genetic factors we don't know about.
I'm sure about agreeing to disagree - I think many here think you are just plain WRONG!

You make a valid point regarding "daily price movements". Of course, we'd all like to see blue. Maybe "daily price fluctuations" would have been a better choice of words.

Your comparison of dpm is not valid as has been shown many times before. There is a mind blowing disparity between the size of a mouse and the size of an elephant! Use a different unit of measure and it becomes even bigger!

Personally, I'm not that bothered about fraction of a penny daily movements - I'm not selling and I'm not trading so why would I?
Personally, I don't care WHO is buying the shares. I'd be slightly more concerned about who was selling if it was a large volume.
Personally, I don't consider 125K a "large trade". That's £25K - a fraction of a decent pension pot.
Those are my PERSONAL views. I appreciate that others feel differently and I think we should all respect that.

Good point. The decisions governments are able to take are different for a dictatorship than a liberal democracy.

The other thing we (TF) need to consider is increase in deaths due to things other than Covid. It's all very well locking down and reducing the Covid death figure but what has this done to other deaths?

I'm afraid the erroneous logic on the part of TF is that any differences in deaths per million across countries must therefore be down to the approach taken by their respective governments.
This is just plain wrong. The approach will have a bearing but there are many far more important factors:
Density of population
Age demographic of population
Health of population
Standard of medical care
Availability of medical care
Ethnicity of population
Cultural habits
Availability and accuracy of testing
Availability and accuracy of reporting

So, look at Japan compared to the UK. This is almost certainly down to the fact that Japan has one of the lowest obesity rates in the world whilst the UK has one of the highest,

Germany compared to the UK - as well having a lower obesity rate than the UK (yes, I was surprised) their culture probably makes them more likely to stick to the rules.

The head of WHO was speaking recently and stated that boosters are prolonging the pandemic.
He asserts that developed countries are taking up all supply with 3/4 doses at the expense of poorer countries. A variant appears in the unvaccinated countries, is imported into the wealthy countries who then need jabs 5/6.
We are not protected until everyone is protected.

Scancell describe their Covid vaccine as providing a "durable" response. The precise length of time probably can't be predicted. It would need to be an improvement on the current vaccines so if it was only a year that would be a big improvement.

I think it is wrong to call the current treatments "not fit for purpose". The purpose is to prevent serious illness and death. On that score they have succeeded. Don't forget, some drugs need to be administered daily in order to keep people alive.
