You could of course make an assessment based on known knowns and known unknowns. This would give you a maximum % (it will go down as you discover more unknowns)

Paradoxically, someone completely ignorant (unaware of any unknowns) could claim 100%!

As far as the proactive/fundraising link. I have checked the proactive events and there has NOT been a placing IMMEDIATELY following. So either there were no takers, OR the takers were asked to wait until there WAS a fundraising (there's always another one along soon) OR there is no link and I have got it completely wrong. If this is the case, very happy to admit I'm wrong.

Not sure what your point is blethering on about naive. Everyone is naive at some point, it simply means not having experience.

If you consider the years Prof Durrant has studied and worked in this field, to claim someone can achieve 50% of the knowledge swotting up on a couple of wet afternoons is insulting.

TF, if you truly believe that anyone here has a 50% grasp of the science you are completely deluded. I doubt even the respected scientists would claim 100%, they are far too clever and far too modest to do so. The stupid are far too stupid to know what they don't know.

smpunter, don't worry about it, nobody here understands half the science. One or two may understand 1% of it.

Well said Bermuda. That's how to knock someone down AND wipe the floor with them!

There have been some very heartfelt comments over the last day or so. Even though we may have different points of view and opinions, sincerity in expressing those views are very important. Several here have first hand or close hand experience of cancer and the devastating effects it can have on lives. We want companies like Scancell to succeed to reduce these bad effects.

I do think we need to, at times, to separate our philanthropic motivations from purely financial ones. A guess a lot of us are interested in both in equal measures. Others will have a bias towards one or the other. I think we need to acknowledge and respect that.

Scancell has a lot going for it, as listed by other contributors. A lot has been spoken of half full/half empty buckets, even buckets with holes in. I think my bucket is three quarters full with a small leak, no more than a drip. There are still many hurdles to overcome - possibly more financial than scientific.

I do hope Scancell have some practical proposals in terms of ensuring that the significant funding to see all the platforms through to market is forthcoming. I don't think we should view another placing as something to be afraid of. I would welcome it if it gave a clear vision of how to achieve ALL the goals. So let's hope you are right C7 and that they do have something very important to say.

No, I don't consider a lot of the news inflection points. Some of the news possibly SHOULD have created an inflection point, but looking at the SP chart, there aren't any (positive ones anyway). The fact that the market has not created the hoped for/expected/predicted inflection points says a lot about how it views the financial and commercial significance of the news so far.

I suspect the market would be more excited if the news was "Scancell licenses xyz for an upfront payment of $90M" than it would over "Scancell discovers 4th/5th platform".

What can you do about it? Observe, take note and act appropriately.

Sorry, just an observation of the facts. Perhaps you would prefer not to let facts get in the way?

I have told you on numerous occasions I do NOT presume failure. If I did I wouldn't have invested a significant sum here.

I too got into Scancell following the loss of a family member. I really hope your relative gets to benefit from this technology, or some other if not this.
