OK, got it! The article is about the start of the SCIB1 trial (although not mentioned as SCIB1)
If you read between the lines, under and over the lines and jump through a few hoops you come to the conclusion it WAS an "early version" of SCIB1.

Rather an important point, I thought. Not sure as a shareholder that there is someone somewhere who has bought the intellectual rights to an "early version" of SCIB1.

I'm afraid your wrong. Prof Sikora himself admitted that the three months to live was suggested to him by the Libyan government.

That was from an RNS update on SCIB1 trial December 2012 - nearly 6 years ago!

Found it! He was an assessor on the SCOB1 phase1/2 trial:

Leading oncologist Karol Sikora, Professor of Cancer Medicine and external assessor to Scancell commented: "The positive immune response data and impressive clinical response in the patient with multiple lung metastases is encouraging news for patients with malignant melanoma. The temporal relationship of the disappearance of the lung metastases in this patient is very suggestive of the effective immune destruction of the cancer. I look forward to seeing the results of the ongoing studies and in particular whether a higher dose of SCIB1 will confirm the impact of SCIB1 on active disease."

What are you on about? I didn't "find" him, he was there in the article posted by Ray.
Where did the "faulty" come from. I said he was "surrounded by controversy" which according to Ray he was.

Ray, just because some guy on a BB calls it "an early version" doesn't make it true!
It's a bit like saying the bow and arrow was an early version of the intercontinental ballistic missile! (maybe it was who knows)
The important questions are: where did it go? Who owns the IP? is it being used now? Is it successful?

C7, I don't think he was with a pharma, mainly worked in hospitals and universities. The name is familiar to me (maybe from this article as I have read it a few times) but I seem to remember his name coming up with regard to one of the trials. I think his specialism is Melanoma.

Ray, I remember the article as well and have read it numerous times since. Like you it was one of the factors that drew my attention to Scancell.

I'm not sure it is correct to call it an "early version of SCIB1" though. This technology was sold off (very early funding of SCLP) and SCIB1 is protected by patent so can't reconcile those two facts in my head.

It also begs the question, where is the drug now? Was it commercialised, is it successful?

Also, I think there has been controversy surrounding Karol Sikora, so an endorsement from him possibly not the best thing to have.

Will it be hard or soft?

The "expected" news and times can be found on the Scancell website. The latest presentations are probably the most succinct and up to date.

Lots of things around the above could boost the SP. IND acceptance, trial commences, patent publication/approval.

I think if you are looking for a catalyst to really boost the SP it will be Results from trial(s) or grand challenge, a deal (China?) or possibly another scientific break through.

FWIW I’m very happy with the China connection:

They want something that works
They will want value for money
They value personal relationships over corporate reputation
They have a MASSIVE potential market
They possibly want a piece of the action (partner not just customer)

TF, your first sentence- very naughty and very misleading. Quoting a quote of a quote out of context, really?

The award of a patent and peer review does not stop someone starting proceedings to challenge. It would be up to the court to decide if the case had merit. These sorts of actions are very costly.

Interesting point about possibly having no patents awarded. When I saw the exhaustive list I prior art I did wonder how on earth we managed to get a patent awarded.

I guess the worry is we may have to defend a patent infringement case against us or pursue an infringement case against some else. These sorts of actions can be very expensive (as in the case of NIPT)

Yet another potential “risk”?

A very comprehensive and heartfelt post. You ask why I got involved. Well when there is a disputed between two people the opinion of a third (or forth) may tip the balance. I also thought the opinion of someone who actually is a named inventor on a patent may be listened to. Apparently not. ATB
