No, I didn't consider myself as one she had in mind as "being silly", but feel free to accept it as directed at yourself.

The only post I had made prior to clare's 8.26 was at 8.21 where I simply stated a fact: Not everyone was saying the GC win was a nailed on certainty.

All my subsequent posts have merely stated facts.

Sadly, this was wasn't a lottery where balls we selected from a hat, there was a selection process based on merit.

That is an absolute classic coming from you lol.
Contrary to what YOU think, I'm pretty sure that Scancell themselves never "expected" to win. They would show far more humility than that and have a far greater appreciation of the big picture (as well as more respect for their peers). I'm sure decision made over the past 11 months have not been made on the "expectation" of a win.

Personally I have found the "self-congratulatory, back slapping, it's in the bag, competition-deriding" rhetoric the past few weeks quite sickening.

It's time for us all to show a bit of respect to other companies and posters and appreciate that the eradication of cancer will not be down to a single company or person.

I agree with deadly, the decision took into account financial need as well scientific excellence/potential.

It may have been that Scancell wanted to keep their "loss" quiet and low key. Unfortunately, the level "it's in the bag" hysteria whipped up on this BB meant that they had to make an announcement whichever way it went. Especially so in the light of the share price rise on the back of it. I did say weeks ago that they would have two stories ready to go.

Had I thought the GC win was "in the bag", I would have been disappointed today and possibly my enthusiasm would have dropped as I suspect yours has (very slightly)

I'm afraid anyone who thinks the rise over the last two days wasn't ENTIRELY due to the (false) expectation of a GC win is either completely deluded or deliberately trying to mislead.

There are many here (and elsewhere) who highlight alternative possibilities. It is not that people don't tell you, it is simply that you just don't listen. For example, last week when I warned about the "self-congratulatory, back slapping hysteria" I get shot down.

Finally, don't fall into the trap of thinking everyone who advises caution or points out risks must be a trader with an agenda. Many are long term, sensible investors.

Some investors here may have averages in the 30s or 40s. So 10p is hardly making them jump up and down.

You are grossly undervaluing Scancell. SCIB1, if and when proven and commercialised should be worth at least 72p. The reason why we have languished below 10p is the failure to commercialise it so far. Let's hope CH has got plenty of good news tomorrow.
