White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci warned members of Congress in late June that the U.S. might report more than 100,000 daily new cases of the virus “if this does not turn around.”

But months later, Fauci’s worst fears have NOT come to pass as daily new cases have steadily FALLEN across much of the U.S. While testing has declined in recent weeks, the number of new cases is falling faster than testing rates, indicating that at least some of the drop is REAL.

This is very positive news as the trend is there. Confidence is being restored and business and leisure is returning to the US.

Expect to see activities thrive such as bowling, cinema and generally enjoying social experiences, more.

When you consider that schools will be opening, next month. Millions of children sitting without respecting any social distance, no masks (primary schools) and frequent shared touch points such as stairs, corridors and materials. It really is clear to see why the US is re-opening cinemas and it's only a matter of time when 25% of the US estate (Cali and NY) re-open.

I've got my ticket booked for Tenet, tomorrow to see with friends and the positive media exposure we can expect to see today will drive this share price considerably higher.

That last sentence was a play on the Porsche quote from Risky Business.

Cruise told his fellow cinema-goers: "Great to be back in a movie theatre, everybody."

There really is no substitute to the theatrical exhibition.

The trend is there for all to see.

We will hear positive news on Tenet and await the updates from the US on California and NY.

I'm expecting some positive media coverage and preliminary data being shared on box-office.

Don't forget Tenet was changed to 12A certification and thus will attract a lot more school age children who are on their summer break.

The rain we seem to be having will drive footfall into a dry area like cinemas.

Lots to look forward to, tomorrow and importantly MORE GAINS.

California is keen to get back to re-opening; business and leisure including CInemas will be opening in the next week, I predict.

Per Moola's comment, which probably frames the narrative better, the recovery for box office revenue is going to be dramatic when we see more US cinemas open.

Don't forget California and NY make-up ~25% of Cineworld's US estate.

I am watching closely for an update from both states as this will give the share price a huge push.

The markets are recognising that leisure activities particularly, cinema are on the rise. The footfall and box office revenue doesn’t lie.
