I must have missed your list of oilers taken out at more than twice the starting price. The reality is that talk of near 50p from a 12p starting price is just nonsense and if you want folk to even entertain the possibility of 30p you need to show them other oilers that have been taken out at 2.5 times the starting price. Twice the starting price? Not out of the question - I have seen it happen, but the chances are that is pretty much the limit, barring game changing drilling success while this process is ongoing or AMER halting the process and coming back into play at some point down the line (but we both know what halting the process would mean for the share price in the short term).

It is very simple - tell me about the oilers taken out at more than twice the “starting price” and, when you can’t, tell me why it should be any different this time. One possibility would be significant drilling success while this process is ongoing, but other than that? I get your frustration if you are in here at higher than the likely exit price but don’t take it out on folk who are simply trying to tale an objective view of the likely outcome.

Quarterly updates were essential until Leo Koot told you that they were not essential. Do you really think that he would have ditched the Q2 update if it showed a production uplift and a growing cash balance? He is playing you and you are just letting him.

It is possible that he is holding off for an RNS that looks a bit more positive (e.g. one about the Bonasse appraisal wells or one about new country entry) to “bury” the Q2 update in. Time will tell.

In fact I have been posting on the AMER ADVFN BB since 2017. I certainly would consider taking 25p as that would be just over twice the “starting price”. The only thing that might change that would be news of significant drilling success - that would arguably reset the “starting price” a little higher. This could be a long process, so that is a possibility. Time will tell. I am just trying to look at this objectively and avoid wishful thinking.

It really is beginning to look as if Leo Koot has ditched the Q2 update. I think you all know why he might have done that, whether you are admitting it or not. Leo Koot really is playing you - some of you ask for more RNSs and he uses that as an excuse to ditch this key update! And you just let him do it! Not a even a whimper from the LTHs on here.

Yes, the market did not get it badly wrong on Friday. Hardly a surprise. Obviously low ball and the BoD have clearly done the right thing, but perhaps this will reset the discussion of exit prices on here to more realistic parameters.

Not convinced by “strangled intentionally” conspiracy theories and the like. If you don’t think that the share price could head back in the other direction, wait and see what happens if our oft clumsy BoD start sending the wrong signals.

It is my investment too. I am hardly “bashing” it - I have made it clear that I would not sell at these levels and do not have a problem with talk of up to 25p. But more than that? I am looking for insights into what is most likely to happen, not what folk want to happen.

The validity of the analogy with Ophir does not lie in balance sheet specifics, rather it lies in historical management performance and likely share price action once “in play”. Again, where are the ones taken out at more than twice their “starting price”? Why should AMER be any different?
