I agree about not sure what the guy has said that causes it all to kick off - seemed a bit vague to me. Happy to be in both and might get a bit more balanced view here - not committing to its s bit clearer.

I'm trying to get up to speed as fast as I can. What's he said that's kicked it all off - I thought it was general knowledge they were developing a test.

I'm DYOR and struggling to find details of this one way or other. Can someone point me in right direction - can see its thought to be most reliable test - just need to read it for myself before jumping in. Good luck - good to see PIs making money.

Hi RK. I think Foxeys question was what is the limit of detection. For PCR we are talking picomolar. Is the Avacta test able to detect that level of infection or do we wait until its had time time stew for a bit?

ODX value £130M. Avacta £430M

CEO basically said nothing new - not even sure they have a test to trust. Nice looking company but cannot say imgoing to leave here for there or even put on fresh more eye on the back of it. In terms of test I'm struggling to see a competitive advantage?

I'm not a lab tech. It occurs to me that Avacta have a similar high volume population test in development. The mass spec test is exactly that.

Wonder if it will make the medical experts review - I've lost the link. If it relies on self testing then I don't think it's going to see light of day. If not is it voluntary that someone goes door to door spreading joy

Thanks for the thoughts - good to het otjer perspectives. Im thinking currently if they sell one stick they will be the market leader. We don't need the perfect stick - anyone who can make a stick that tells you whether you have covid or not will do. In that space they might just have to be the cheapest

Their calculations seem to rely on everyone living in a house with three other people. Good spot to find the slides - I might pitch them my own silky PowerPoint skills.

They state a cost of £1 per test but also "forget" the cost of distribution, collection, reporting, data storage .....

Omnisure. Cannot find what their test based on but website says aiming for September delivery. They already do a flu test.

Share price has trebled this year with current mk cap at just under $900m. They do have significant established arms of the business particularly in HIV testing. They have $178M is cash but sales of $31M

Wow. Apart from mentioning the flu thing (el grande affirmer) thats shows how desperate they are - hell they could have bought Avacta for $500M and had some change not so long ago. Going to see what the other lot are using for reagents. Thanks for posting
