The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Yes Joehigashi, a great post.
I had almost given up on this thread as its mainly posters either repeating themselves over and over, and even more continually name calling and arguing.
Its a shame that many posters do nothing but argue back time after time, and then go onto state how boring those posters they are commenting about have become.
We all know the posters who genuinely enhance these threads, so surely the best action to take to return this thread to its previous level of information and well argued content is to stop feeding these self gratification posters by replying.
NoelShempsky,
Point taken
Don't usually mention another IAM share on here, so don't take this as a push for the company mentioned, (hope no one takes notice of any such push from a holder of such a share), I was just using it as an example.
I won't pretend to be that knowledgeable re Charts, but I do feel they are very little help when it comes to AIM shares.
The reasons being, is that more likely than not, AIM shares are news driven far more than shares quoted/traded on the main markets.
AIM shares as we have seen over the last few days (Feedback) can increase by double digit percentages, something very rare on main market quoted/traded shares.
This shows how a chart for most IAM companies can be completely turned upside down on a ground breaking bit of news.
This contract billed at Significant is worth $1.5 over the term, but expected to be of far more value.
As the RNS goes on to say, "The solution will be first deployed in the US before being rolled out to as many as 28 further countries over the contract term. This contract will help support the forecast growth in the next financial year and beyond", I presume that the initial contract value mentioned is for roll out over the USA only and that the increases in value are as those other 28 countries come on line.
The RNS could be far clearer, so would appreciate others views.
This is not an attempt to pour cold water on this share, as I bought in 3 tranches, 2 in 2017 an 1 in 2018 and I have always been in profit.
I know someone who is quite high up in a major Oil Company, his previous role was looking at all structures of the companies pipeline (no pun intended).
His new role is to look at how the company can change, by facilitating green technologies into its main business.
I know from talking to him that the understanding among all oil/fuel companies, is either adapt or/and expand into green energy or get left behind.
The speed at which all the big (and not so big) oil companies will have to adapt in gathering pace.
There are at least 30 private traders on L2 before you see any sign of a MM. This has been the situation for over 1 hour.
As a MM has to have Bids and Asks at least near to the same ballpark price (otherwise it gives the game away if they have only a bid or offer on the table) , it looks to me as they want to hold onto the shares they are allowed to hold (as MM's they are only allowed to hold shares for short transition periods) but as many are now also Brokers, they can hold far more shares, for longer periods.
Be interested on others views re this.
Looks good, but still trying to get my head round the figures and understanding of drilling results, good or bad (they look good to my untrained eye).
Learnt quite a bit about reading oil drilling/discovery results during my time invested in oilles, but would appreciate any suggestions of where to find the info I require.
Always like researching myself sooner than asking others to do the work, but a pointer where to look would be appreciated.
I look at gifting to a couple of NHS Trusts, as using a sprat to catch a mackerel, and as a fisherman, I know that often you can use the same sprat to catch several mackerel.
I do though agree that these free offers should be closely watched as to time left on the hook.
Never before known a fund raising that came anywhere near a doubling of a companies market cap.
Hopefully as they say in the RNS, they have great plans for targeting this money, as looking at the fundamentals, I can't see any other reason for such a sum.
As to us PI's only getting a few crumbs, I would have liked a bigger slice of the fundraising pie, but I doubt they would be able to raise much more than the percentage offered, from private investors.
At least we PI's can get a look in re this cash raising.
Although a £10 million target is quite high for a company with a market cap of £131, million, it always depends on what the money is needed for.
Looking at the progress made over the last 12 months, and looking forward, I will be quite happy to take up any offer made.
Not too disappointed with the years results, as the Covid situation has been difficult for most IT companies due to many current or/and potential customers either cutting back, holding back or both (my son works in IT and things are only just getting back to so called normal.
Peel NRE submitted a planning application for a complimentary Plastic Park at Protos in October this year which provides for further materials recovery and plastics sorting, together with recycling activities.
Can't see why Peel did not submit all planning applications at the same time, as surely they knew what would be required, far earlier than this October.
No doubt that my filtering has had good effect, as almost all of the posts of last couple of days have been informative, well discussed and interesting to read, even allowing some differences of opinion.
Great to hear/read opposing views, as that is the main way for us all to learn and increase our knowledge.
Hope it continues.
As I understand it, whilst usually shares are suspended due to very bad news about to leak or/and having leaked, suspension is still allowed when undue good news is about to be leaked or has been leaked.
Both these circumstance can arise in order to stop a very sudden dramatic increase/decrease in a share, enabling as much of a level playing field for all holders, not just the privileged few in the know.
The last time I recall this happening was when a company takeover was leaked.
I doubt either is on the cards for AFC.
