Totally agree Gwillerz, I’m finding it hard to find a company in the North Sea I would prefer for us to buy. £1.50 cash buyout would get 90% of the votes in this current climate I would think.
Saying that with cash in the bank I wouldn’t turn my nose up at paying £1.80 as the return on it would be rapid.
Great buy for our transition From oil to gas and with Columbus to tie back to our Arran field it’s an added bonus. Makes a lot of sense to me and I would personally prefer this than taking on something to big.

It’s all very possible NEW and in all honesty there does need to be something put in place to limit population growth because we will self destruct if we carry on the way we are.
We need a limit of two children per family but obviously that comes with a world of problems regulating it and not exactly a great move for human rights.

Yep, I do think it’s a win win for trump as things stand, he’s put up a hell of a lot of money aside to buy up the bond market which looks like he will make back from cheaper oil,essentially making Russia and Saudi pay the price of reviving the shale industry with a clean slate?

I agree that the intention is to take back big market share NEW, their opex is tiny compared to other producers,however we know they can’t really afford to sell it cheap, anything under $40 is bad news for them both from what I have read?
If that was to happen the uk government would have to put tariffs of some sort on imports of crude to keep our own company’s in business and keep our oil and gas supply self sufficient as reliance on Russia would be a huge danger to our national security. As we know, this is why trump put sanctions on the build of the nord 2 pipeline.

I did ask the question a few months back how come the U.S and India became best buddy’s over night after repeated attempts of a trade deal with China fell through?
Next thing trumps starts selling fleets of apache helicopters to the Indians in multiple arms deals while starting talks of shifting major trade to India.

Next piece which I questioned is the response to the outbreak by China, quick lockdowns with extreme measures, building temporary hospitals in 10 days(apparently) and then absolute lack of communication to the outside world with data of what they were dealing with.

The outbreak was in wuhan, I have just learned that wuhan is the centre of a supply chain that supplies to over 1800 large US company’s. Yes China may have had a lockdown and taken a hit economically but nothing compared to what the US will suffer with a supply chain disruption like this causing unprecedented drops in US stock markets.

Summary:
Trump claimed many times “China need this deal more than we do” and threatened tariffs over and over again.
Was this a move to weaken the US economy so badly to show who really needs who while stopping any ongoing trade deal talks with India and any more arms deals?

I don’t like to think about the amount of shares I would have right now if I had sold then bought back yesterday. Still we can’t dwell on the past and aslong as we see £30 one day we can’t complain and I am confident of that becoming a reality in the not to distant future.

Madness that it ever dropped below £17 never mind made it to £7. I’m struggling to see any blue day here exciting until it’s back above £15 even in these market conditions.

You also have the element of uncertainty to bargain with this early, if there is a lockdown and cases start to decline in a month then everything will double again within days, right now there’s a lot of people who just want their money back and think this is the end of the world, I think we need to capitalise on that.

On Wednesday, Novak said that Russia would send representatives to the meeting of the OPEC+ panel, reiterating Moscow’s readiness to continue cooperation with OPEC in some form after the collapse of the OPEC+ production cut deal and oil prices.

Novak’s comments came a day after he said that “the doors aren’t closed” to future cooperation between Russia and OPEC, despite the breakup of the OPEC+ production cut agreement.

OPEC+ has meetings scheduled for May or June to assess the situation on the market, the Russian minister said, but his Saudi counterpart seemed to dismiss Russia’s comments that cooperation should continue.

“I fail to see the wisdom for holding meetings in May-June that would only demonstrate our failure in attending to what we should have done in a crisis like this and taking the necessary measures,” Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told Reuters on Tuesday.
