I think the difference is that the US knows that energy independence is still a priority and that fossil fuels are an essential ingredient for transition. They also put their money where their mouth is and the $17bn merger of Cimarex and Cabot shows that the grown ups are back in charge.

Meanwhile in the UK half-truths abound and we have a Prime Minister who says what he thinks will win him popularity and damn the cost. Remove the uncertainty and UK oil stocks would fly. We can't afford care for the elderly and hospital waiting lists are becoming third world yet evangelists believe that billions should go on Net Zero with arguable benefits.
