No thanks. I'm a long-term holder, so I'll just hold onto the dog until the manipulators have had enough. Meantime I've written to Clipper asking if they aren't concerned about the obvious manipulation of their share price.

The bid probably was factored into the SP to some extent. Nonetheless, on today's performance so far, you could be forgiven for thinking BAB had lost the bid.

It's not a massive hike and therefore probably not indicative of some insider knowledge. It is a significant shift though, after the pretty flat performance over the last couple of weeks. Market sentiment has probably improved regarding the prospects of a successful bond sale.

I'm a great advocate of stop losses when investing in speculative shares. Of course, it's a matter of personal preference, so do your own research.

Possibly, but if the bonds haven't sold by the end of Sep, they are unlikely to sell in Oct. By then it will almost certainly be time for Plan B.

October would be too late, I believe. I understand the JPM funding deal effectively ends at midnight 30 Sep.

I'm utterly amazed the SP hasn't gone up more dramatically. I was expecting a short squeeze and lots of buys on the Type 31 news. Perhaps, as often happens, there will be a delayed reaction in the next few trading days.

Who knows if the deal is done? What does seem clear, however, is that market sentiment for the bond sale is improving, hence the new SP.

Ironically, the reporting of these sort of transactions is supposed to be for reasons of transparency, to ensure that investors are adequately informed. In fact, they seem to ensure only investor bafflement.

They won't be announcing anything until such time as the bonds have been sold, partially sold or not sold at all. If it's one of the last two, we probably won't hear about it until the end of Sep.

Invesco have increased their shareholding from 11.9% to 12.01%. Small increase, but it confirms the trend.

And a £400k buy (off-book TNCP) reported at 17:09. What it all means, if anything, is anyone's guess. Clearly there are some pretty weighty transactions going on behind the scenes.

Some very odd goings on today - around £700k of cancelled trades. Bordering on market manipulation perhaps.

In other news, the £1.5M buy was an off-book NPFT (Non Price Forming Transaction).

I don't normally subscribe to conspiracy theories, but in this case I'm inclined to agree. I'm beginning to think that if someone were to do a forensic examination of the trading patterns here, they might identify patterns of trading consistent with illegal market manipulation. I'm seriously considering making a complaint to the FCA.
