Unsuitably low, more like. Although Brexit on 31 Jan is largely priced in, we may just see an uptick when it actually happens. The market seems very naive not to see through Boris's trade deal cliff edge threat. Don't forget this is the guy who said he would rather die in a ditch than see an extension to the Oct 31st deadline - and we all know how that ended. If an extension to the trade negotiations is necessary, we all know he will go for one.

I wonder why Sun Capital and Parkin have gone for a bid extension. Could it be that they realize circa 300p just isn't going to cut it and they will need to stump up a far more if they are to have any chance of persuading IIs to part with their CLG shares? Given that most IIs are averaging around 300p, any bid is going to have to be far more generous than the one mooted.

This week saw another gross overreaction to a single broker downgrade. I'm sure it will soon be forgotten, given that Capita's recovery plans are still on track.

No, Unilever is a higher quality company, but I think it is vulnerable to the same problems as KHC (i.e. consumers defecting to discount retailer own-brands and a move away from big name brands in general).

After the Kraft Heinz crash earlier this year, I saw this coming and sold my Unilever shares (at 20% profit). Given its relatively modest divi, I have always thought it to be a grossly overhyped share - and one I probably won’t be buying again.

It is good to see the market recognising the value and performance of the company. If Breedon continues at its current pace of acquisitions and partnerships, I can see it heading into the FTSE 250 in a few years time - and paying a divi. I can’t see its acquisition in Ireland being a problem post-Brexit, given that it is an intra-Ireland operation. As for Scotland, I think it will be business as usual for Breedon, given that the SNP hasn’t a hope in hell of getting Indiref2 approval from this government.

I don’t believe he will be ‘throwing money at Scotland‘. Why would he? He has little or no political base left there. He will just (quite rightly) say ‘no’ to another indyref and leave The SNP to run Scotland for the next 5 years.

Provided the next set of results are in line with expectations (and there’s nothing to indicate they won’t be), I think we will see 200p by mid March.

It is easy to blame the strengthening pound, but the SP's performance was not exactly stellar when the pound was kicking around the low £1.20s to the dollar. I'm just going to keep it on the back burner and accept that it's a $hit share.

Perhaps the short sellers begged her to give BAB a negative review. In any event, the market appears to have disregarded it.

I wonder if the market has got wind of another bidder? Clearly, expectations are rising above 300p.

Quite the Lazarus share. A 16% rise in just 3 weeks.

My average is 180p, so after a very poor show over the last year, it is good to see the SP in recovery.

Trump doing anything remotely supportive of 'human rights' is a bit of a joke - anything to distract from the impeachment hearings (and give him some more China-bashing ammo). I think Carrie Lam will get the heave-ho before the year is out. There will probably be some (minor but sufficient) concessions to the protest movement and things will simmer down. I think the risk of China going in with force has probably passed too.

Meanwhile, it's good to see Pru back in reasonable health at £14.

Another day, another new contract. Small beer at £2M, but every little helps. More significantly, BAB’s combined order book and pipeline has now hit its highest ever level.

I don't think I've ever seen such instability in a major share. It's up and down like a yo-yo (oil price fluctuations notwithstanding). I'll be holding, but I certainly won't be buying any more. My only consolation is that the rest of my portfolio has more than made up for BP's abysmal performance (diversification being the key). If I don't use automatic reinvestment (for which my platform charges a flat £1 fee) I'll get hammered with dealer fees, so there isn't really an alternative.
