By my calculations the sp today is equivalent to circa 500p in old money. The important questions are: When will IAG be able to return to normal operations and will it require another capital raise to get it there? Who knows? The risks seem to be being ignored though and the sp is getting frothy imho.

While the recovery in the UK is very encouraging, the rest of the world is way behind us. IAG cannot begin to make any meaningful comeback until other countries have caught up with us - and that will take until the end of the year. Summer 2021 will probably be a write-off. IAG is a great company and will survive, but I’m not convinced there will not be more dilution before it returns to profitability.

I bought last summer (and took the RI) in the hope that IAG would be operating a pretty full summer schedule this year. I’m now pretty bearish. Regardless of how well our vaccination roll-out is going, it is clear that much of the world (including the rest of Europe) is a long way from getting its act together. My cousin in Canada (in her mid-60s) is not due to be vaccinated until September. I cannot see IAG being able to mount any sort of meaningful comeback until the end of autumn. That will, of course, mean a bigger debt pile and probably another capital raise. I sold my holding today and will buy again when there is more certainty regarding the way ahead. GLA!

I think the market regards Clipper as a ‘tech stock’. (i.e. strongly linked to online retail) and such shares are generally on the slide at present. Clipper has also been involved in govt work during Covid, which might dry up in the coming months. Of course, online retail is very much the future, so it is difficult to see recent falls being other than a temporary blip. All of that said, the sp has always been on a rollercoaster. One might hope this will change as the company matures.

I think it is now a question of confidence. We need to get to a stage where holders do not feel the need to take profit as the sp approaches 3p, which has happened during the last 2 surges. A few months of growth and no more signs of dilution will probably do the trick.

Rather pathetic that it can hardly maintain 2p, even as the poo surges. It is probably going to take 6 months of good results to turn the sp around significantly and sustainably.

I’ll settle for it staying above 2p for now, which isn’t unreasonable given the current poo.

Oil up again, PPC down again.

Let’s hope today’s move isn’t a precursor of the update. Barring calamitous news, the oil price alone ought to be holding the sp nearer 3p.

I rarely trade. Too stressful and eventually you get your fingers burnt. I prefer to sit back and wait. With commodity prices on the up (probably for the long-term) this sp is trending only one way, barring any calamities.

The volume is good, but it will probably remain very volatile to opportunistic trading until we have some firm positive results.

Something has put a rocket under the sp today. Refugees from BPC? Inside knowledge of good news? Who knows?

At £65k, someone is very confident the sp is on the up.

Provided the oil price holds up and there is no more dilution shenanigans, 4.2 ought to be achievable before the year is out.

Given that PPC crashed when oil crashed last year, one would expect a decent lift, now that oil is back to pre-pandemic prices. Whether we will see a proportionate rise remains to be seen. If PL keeps his hands out of the till and company growth continues, we might be turning a corner.

Looking on the bright side, if you are a long-term holder, with automatic reinvestment, sub-£13 buys you more shares. I’m happy with that, then a return to £18 in a couple of years time.

Bought back in at 4070, having sold my entire holding 18 months ago. Too good to miss at 6% discount.

I will believe we are making progress when the sp manages to stay above 2p for more than 3 days in a row.

It is a dig at anyone who keeps perpetuating the myth of the mystery lone “seller”. If, as seems far more credible, multiple holders are selling when the sp rises, frankly I don’t blame them, given the history here. I don’t trade, so I’m sitting tight. I’m confident that, in the long-term, the sp will move upwards.
