I wonder if the de stocking issues from last year has gone. With the diversification on going and the new GE agreement hopefully Hardide might realise a profit again. Fingers crossed. Mid of this year is Hardide's best guess for the Airbus trials since they have been delayed. Might get a trading update in the later of this month but for me, no news is good news. Regards RRJ DYOR

Just re read the news. I like this bit. 'The agreement is for the supply of coating to a single component currently used by GE....' This is for a SINGLE component. Single for me being just one solitary component. Of course if there is something else to coat at GE it may not be the same size or volume or whatever it is Hardide is coating. I am sure I have seen Hardide share price movements as big as this before. Perhaps even bigger, I'll let other people determine that. Perhaps there is something else I'm missing, like a rise over a certain percentage of the value of the company. Not to my knowledge has Hardide issued a RNS about share price movements before. Why now? RNS cost money to publish. They were a bit cash strapped before and I believe they still have to be careful with their money. The bottom line is this 'Hardide (AIM: HDD), the provider of advanced surface coating technology, notes the recent rise in its share price and confirms that it knows of no reason for such an increase.' It knows of no reason for such an increase. I think it's about the anticipation of the Airbus thing and the helicopter thing and the diamonds thing and the re opening of re Houston thing and the getting away from being dependant on one major customer thing....... That's why am here. It's getting closer. Knowing my luck all this Airbus thing could be just for a couple of parts! Good luck all. DYOR IMO RRJ

0ECCLES0 - Agree. MM chancing it I think. Although it looks and probably is good news they are really only off the starting block. Long way to go to the finish line. Might be ok if it was just a 100 meter sprint but this race is the 100m hurdles and there seems to be a few runners. Hardide seem to be ticking all the boxes but as we know testing takes it's time. The£24bn UK aerospace industry will receive a welcome boost tomorrow when a government-led investment plan worth hundreds of millions of pounds is due to be announced by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. Mr Clegg is expected to say that, under the Aerospace Growth Partnership – a body that brings together government and industry – the money will be poured into projects to help Britain grab a bigger market share. Around 27,000 new large civil aeroplanes will be needed by 2030, while 100,000 people already work in the British aerospace industry. The investment announced tomorrow is on top of £120m committed to aerospace research when the partnership was launched at last year's Farnborough International Airshow by Business Secretary Vince Cable.
