Why would people poo poo it? But there is a difference between rain and being water logged. The rainy season itself isn't going to stop it, only total saturation or flooding will hold it up. Different equipment is then used to install the Christmas tree and perforate the casings. that takes up to six weeks sometimes longer before being complete for production if it needs stimulation.

I was thinking the same myself this morning, especially as they haven't announced a contract yet. I think from that point they would probably be looking at least three months so it wouldn't make much sense if they can have one in the locality. Not sure when that other rig is available from Mozambique, although Charles told me he didn't think it was powerful enough.

It fits in with the expectation as noted in a previous operations update that they would drill before the pipeline is completed.

If we are actually going to use their rig August is looking a good possibility.

I muted the idea not long ago that given the problems of getting drills into the region, once money is flowing they may continue to drill in readiness for expansion of the field or even have a pop at that Jurassic level in an attempt to find the oil.

Economics and demand increases will dictate the expansion rate of the field drilling, but rather than leave a rig idle if they really do think oil is down there, surely it would be worth having a pop at it?

They have a processing plant to build or install before September so given such a short time that is likely to be a pre fabricated modular unit or possibly even a modular mobile plant they muted previously.

That might explain the port inspection.
