RE: Tanzanian MP says Ruvuma may hold 100 TCF of gas6 Feb 2026 11:30
Exactly Bullfrog.
For the construction of the 35-kilometre natural gas pipeline from the Ntorya gas field to the Madimba gas processing plant, the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) has allocated a specific budget of TZS 120 billion (approximately $43–45 million USD based on recent exchange rates).
Add the $140 million gross capital expenditure "carry" agreement between Aminex and ARA Petroleum to cover the broader development through to commercial production, the following details apply specifically to the TPDC-led pipeline project:
Official Allocation: On July 7, 2025, TPDC announced it had allocated TZS 120 billion for the construction of this raw gas pipeline.
EPC Contract: The Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract was awarded to a Chinese consortium consisting of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering (CPP) and China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation (CPTDC).
Project Scope: The project involves a 14-inch diameter pipeline designed to transport raw gas to the existing Madimba processing plant, which has a capacity of roughly 210 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d).
Timeline: Construction is slated for completion by July 2026, with first gas expected to flow shortly after.
Add to that that we are already seeing evidence on the ground that the work has started, those pretending this is not going to bring a good ROI are being foolish.
Anybody that thinks this much capital expenditure is being spent on refilling a camping gas bottle needs to give their heads a wobble.
To be fair though, the people promoting such nonsense are not stupid they are just being dishonest for their own personal gain.
Good luck to the genuine
