The reason they were unable to drill Itumbula earlier was because of the rig issues they "HAD" Had is a world away from "Have" and we know the specialist engineers were in prior to Christmas to fix the hydraulics and the rough neck was onsite ready for immediate fitting. There is no reason whatsoever to assume those repairs have not been concluded.

As you say and I agree, we should know something next week or at least by a week on Monday. Until then it's best to stick to facts you can substantiate rather BS using outdated past news. Things have moved on and we dont find out how far until we are told.

While I agree a tweet or some kind of comms would be useful, reality so far is they have only communicated once things have been done and to be fair promising what is not in their control would only bring more criticism. They raised the money to drill Itumbula they have purchased and had delivered a brand new iron tough neck at great cost, so there is clearly a bark. To ask that question is just being disingenuous. This drill provides the same hit or miss exploration opportunity as any other exploration drill that has ever, or ever will be done. If it fails then who knows what will happen and I know you would prefer to expand on that scenario, but how about you answer a question. What will happen if it succeeds in making a commercial discovery?

Mobilisation of the men on the tools would not have started until at least 3 days ago. My opinion is that mobilisation will start Monday simple as that and it maybe wrong, it is just an opinion afterall.

As you put it over that you are a rig man and know doubt another font of all knowledge, you will know the rig will need to go through its tests and safety inspection before spud so at the earliest could only be spudding this weekend. When next weekend is far more likely, expecting this weekend could only lead to disappointment and more negativity.

I expect crew mobilisation to begin on Monday and Lorna to put her bum back in the hot seat. Christmas break is over and the kids will be back at school. If all has gone to plan I would expect spud by next weekend. With a bit of luck an announcement of spud date this Monday or Tuesday

Dbh, the majority of this lot didn't lose money, the loud mouths on here are in the main just flippers. In and out like yoyos. All they are interested in is their next trade and they will push the BS either way as they play their own book.

There are of course anxious people who have lost and want to see more action, me included on the action front but being a realist we are just two days into the new year and crew mobilisation at best would not have restarted until yesterday, so the best info they could put out until they are fully crewed up would be an estimated spud date which they have already cleary indicated on many occasions as being early January.

Unfortunately until we get to spud we will continue to read the "are we nearly there yet dad" and worse type of posts.

Its fairly obvious to me that important parts of the drilling crew were stood down over Christmas to save costs. It was clear enough in their messaging that the rough neck and rig erection were to take place immediately.

So, imo those stood down are likely to be from the service providers and the spud date is all about logistics of getting out of country staff mobilised. I am guessing, that having been given a break this return is what was under discussion with the providers and I'm thinking next Monday with spud in the following ten days.

When you say they will get something going to let their mates out, don't you think that 'something' will have to be pretty substantial to move so many shares? That's a big gamble for profit, based on what happened at the last spud when we saw no rise at all. In fact the SP was being depressed throughout and you amongst many others are doing your best to keep it that way.

Its a gamble now and I'm prepared to lose my latest tranche purely on a gut instinct that tells me the PIs are being manipulated out of this share for a reason. If it happens to get to .5 then depending the situation at the time I might consider pulling the tranche money out and let ride the rest. If it's going the right way, I'll leave it run.

@Turbot. Agree with all you said to Rupert as I have done the same, but on the 'very low odds' point I question what did you perceive the odds to be at Tai3?

Personally I view the odds on any drill as 50/50 hit or miss, so no real change other than could perhaps be argued more favourable given the data provided that has made them move the pad and target.

I wouldn't go as gar as today being a fomo, but I expected a bit if a rise today. As you say, theres a possibility of an RNS on Tuesday with news of a spud date.

Fingers crossed that when they said early January, they meant the first ten days.

GG you've averaged down to 3p. If Itumbula is successful you should get your money back at that. If not you lose it.

If you borrow to take it down, the same applies, only failure will mean you lose more and owe you family £3k.

Success will get my losses back, but I'm not chasing them. I'm treating todays investment as a new opportunity.

It's true the main rainy season comes in March but the road network to and around the town of Nanguruwe where CH1 will be located, is hard & black topped. As long as the rig is not coming from an un-roaded area, then there should be no reason other than lightening storms why they would not be able to drill throughout the rainy season.

@Dai. Watched before it started but was tied elsewhere. Got in about three months before the previous Tai drill kept buying on Minches hype and averaged down in the run up to recent drill.

Completely new investment now.
