I take your point about signing off forward payments, but in favour is need v availability and also that the rig will be as good as new due to the extent of repairs carried out. Of course that company would need a professional inspection before commitment and now the rough neck has arrived that could possibly be carried out over this weekend.

I'm not holding my breath, but no options can be ignored and it was unsolicited funding they were talking about.

April wouldn't worry me, if the announcement of a rig contract came at this time. What is three months between friends after the years we have waited? At least it would be a positive that we have long been awaiting here.

I will not be surprised if they receive some large funds as forward payment on the rig being contracted out either immediately after Itumbula (or depending on amounts obtained) after a revisit to Tai which would be the preferred option.

Glad you picked that up Crusty it was only last week I suggested that Ara maybe one of those approaching to secure the rig for the NT1 make over. When announcing the work over, they did suggest a mobile unit would be sufficient.

Time will tell if this link comes to fruition. If so I would expect an announcement from both parties in the very near future, certainly by first week of January. Would you agree?

My experience of consolidation is not good. Lets get that ESP installed abd we will be moving up that way. Once FFD is underway perhaps it might be worth doing.

Regulars know how positive I am here and I still am for the long term future. I still hold the bulk but sold a 25% today because of the RNS wording. Fully funded for the remedial work doesn't tell me they are fully funded for the ESP.

I maybe fretting over nothing, but having recently twice been caught by raises I'm being careful.

Of course if the remedial work pushes us up to the 250bpod, it would see $600k/month gross and that would probably cover ESP installation cost. Fingers crossed that's the way it will go.

I was not expecting an RNS until mid first quarter when rates had stabilised before installation of the ESP so for me the fact this is only currently at 40bopd is not a surprise.

The clue was in the previous RNS that clean up could take that long. It is possible that there has been a leak in the last day or two causing the drop but is it a coincidence we also had a new basher arrived on the this bb just as it dropped? I think the clamour for information may have forced this RNS to calm things down. Hopefully it will.

Overall though I think they are on the schedule that they set and at $80 it's currently bringing home $3200/day = $1.2M/year. Yes a long way to go to get to the 900 area, but as they say this is not an uncommon issue and plans are in place to sort it.

Just to state the facts! The rough neck was to be replaced as per 5th December RNS

"Replacement iron rough neck for the Epiroc Predator 220 drilling rig purchased and currently being mobilised from the USA; installation expected to be completed within three weeks."

For every share sold there is a share bought. Some people who want in will say anything to lower the price, that's the nature of the beast. Sadly the bod has provided them with enough vague ammunition that has allowed them to embellish, stretch and even lie about every potentially damaging scenario they want to press home. It is naïve to think that is not the case, but I still think outside if that, there is manipulation going on to take out the PIs which is why I have held.

Ask yourself why would you bash your own stock unless you are playing this same trading game. New vultures have arrived here everyday recently while perhaps some of the old ones who thought they had caught the bottom have quietened down and are themselves now underwater. Those that have never quietened down in my view are either shorting the stock or a part of an orchestrated manipulation.

I could be wrong but if I sell now I will lose even more than when I first said it, but again as HD said those shares are being gobbled up by people who aim to make that 20 to 30%. I think I would sooner keep that for myself.
