'Weardale Lithium £1billion valuation, MAC has 8%, that's £80m for Mac'
Doesn't really work like that P2R. If you look at the potential revenue that could be generated that might give you a better ball park figure as to what kind of valuation MAC might be able to realise in the near term. Current price approx £15k per ton. 10,000 tons per year makes £150m per year before costs. Let's just guess at say 50% is actual profit ie £75m. Typical mcap valuation is anywhere between 4x and 10x the profit made after costs.
If we estimated even just 25% profit from that level of income and took a multiple of the mid point btwn 4 and 10 ie 7 then that's still a mcap of £175m. Where are we now? Oh yeah, £2.7m. This is why I'm totally bemused as to the current stagnation in the share price. There has been a slight rise since late 2025 but still nothing like what I imagine there could be were any partnerships announced. 5 individuals, Directors and significant share holders, own about half the company so they stand to make an absolute fortune if they can seal a deal. Thing is, are they going to be greedy and try to rid themselves of retail investors first before any progress is made/announced? One would seriously hope they stand to make enough profit that they wouldn't feel the need to screw a handful of smaller investors.
All hangs on funding for Weardale and whether or not Stewart Dickson can deliver a significant partner. If he does then this goes parabolic and we enjoy a good day or two for once. C'mon Stewart!
