Your right, but I note "According to them...." They may be right , but don't accept that, check it with SG. As I previously posted, I've twice in last 5 years caught Barclays out on errors and then telling porkies to cover up. They are a load of bankers (spelling?), but I persisted and got compensation. Just my experience for what it's worth. Hope to see an options RNS for you soon!

I'm Mr. Exstatic! SG spot on time with a Xmas RNS! If I had known that today was start day, I'd have painted my shovel gold and gone to Cononish to help turn the first sod! Even the Sp is up 4% with no trades showing!

Thanks for the link. James Edwards and Calum Lyell have been busy and the techniques and approach are detailed in their project descriptions. The key parts of interest for us (IMO) are:
"......this project aims to generate an exploration model that can be used as an exploration guide in the Scottish Highlands......." JE. and
"The project aims to significantly evolve our genetic understanding of the deposit and directly inform mine development and processing methodology, maximizing gold (and co-products: e.g. Ag, Te) recovery and minimizing waste and environmental impact........." CL.
So one program supporting the Grampian Project, one supporting the Cononish Project and clearly building on the previous work of Nyree Hill and Carl Spence Jones.
I'm Mr. Happy!!!
Would be nice to see such forward-looking information on the Scotgold website, plus a program for the Grampian Project for 2019.

Thanks for that, but no outbox to show when using a PC and the SG website message facility. Nevertheless it does work and I got an e-reply yesterday. You can see at the SG website Projects/Cononish that the out of date message on the header referring to the BFS is now gone.

All we need now is an RNS to say all the NP conditions are met and NLR will turn the first sod to give us a Happy Xmas, though realistically a Happy New Year will probably have to do.

Any good news from anyone would be better than the dreary Brexit to hang over us into the New Year. Anyone got any?

TLC has given the score so far. Two of the 21 are to appoint an Ecological Clerk of Works and a Landscape Clerk of Works to check that Scotgold complies with this the Decision and the Legal Document (that won;t open for me) at:

I've read the Decision and I can't recommend it for bedtime reading!

Please don't elevate Thatcher to the same level as Churchill. He was a 'builder' in both the political and practical sense, whereas she was a 'hatchet' woman. I suppose one's views are coloured by one's experiences and mine in the early 80's (with my brothers-in-law) was queuing around the block at the dole office!

For a bit of cheer, I'm glad that you appear to agree with me on Cameron.

Another fact is that for decades, UK governments failed to continuously engage with the EU, preferring to tolerate it and spit out their dummy every 10 to 20 years or so on single issues. You have to be in it to influence it and our governments failed us IMO to make the EU a better place.

All too late now, but remember that from now on, we will have no influence in the EU, but it will not go away and continue to make decisions that will affect us and perhaps not for our good. As Boris's father put it in a TV interview, " leaving the table early may save you the bill, but you may still be on the menu!"

It absolutely does count, but the intention of voters was not to provide an opportunity for self-seekers with their own agendas to make a 'dog's breakfast' of it and leave us and our children disadvantaged. Though our views differ and I voted to remain, I accept the decision of voters, even though after this debacle, we will likely all regret it IMO.

So the right wing of the Tory party see their chance to seize power. The draconian dragons are hungry for it and ordinary folk will regret it as much as they will regret the needless 'Brexit' disaster. All because Cameron saw the chance to drum up some more votes from a referendum promise, so that he could ditch the coalition. So we shall all be consigned as sacrificial 'cannon fodder' for self-serving politicians. Nothing has changed since WW1, except the people are now called 'collateral damage.'

Ooops, sorry! Am I choosing the wrong thread? Need to cheer up and redress! The gold price has risen over 10% since October. Come on Scotgold. Get mining!

Realistically, any advance for start-up before Q1 2020 would be a bonus. In the meantime, lets hope for news of progress at Cononish and the Grampian Project in 2019.

So who is suited to do that among many more varied tasks in residential or nursing homes??? Someone you hold in low esteem then? Is that any more appropriate than my recent post that raised objection? Those working in residential and nursing homes are motivated by caring and service not the pay, as they are required to be trained to similar levels to teaching assistants, yet paid rather less. Two of my daughters work in nursing homes and if I were to show them your post, you might well be pummeled in the Trossachs!!! Let's hope that you and I with our extended families will have the support we may need in our dotage and not need to rely on residential care or financial support.

At 72, the past European conflicts were before my time and I was one of those once young people who supported the ideas of European peace, harmony and co-operation, the EEC and EU. I share your sadness at seeing the UK retreating from well-intended human togetherness.

My sincere apologies for any annoyance that my post caused you. I have met and worked with a number of your country-folk and have respect and appreciation for you all. I can understand your irritation for the resurrection of history best forgotten, but my (perhaps ill-chosen) point was that power and it's imbalance, historically have always been exploited by those that have or seek it. I have no reason to expect that to happen, we may get another referendum and seeing the mess being made by UK politicians, make a better choice.
Please don't stay silent.............you ARE welcome and perhaps we'll meet at the mine next year.
