I was really only being mischievous with an 'Ian Fleming touch,' but then the Fleming family is an indirect investor in gold mines bought from Abramovich. A couple of years ago on holiday in Scotland, his yacht was spotted online by my nephew to be cruising around the Argyll sea lochs and we saw it from Dunoon, at anchor in the Firth of Clyde. Hopefully that's not a 'McMafia' touch, ha, ha!

Thank you for your research and links. An interesting read on the Fleming family. I wonder if the Black Mount Estate is hopeful of gold occurrences like those identified on the Auch Estate to the South, as on trends in the last 3 slides of the Grampian Project:

Interesting to here direct farming feedback on ICL's (Boulby Mine) polysulphate. Bodes well for Sirius's POLY4 (essentially a granulated form of the same) from their Woodsmith Mine after 2021.

Interesting to hear that you use polysulphate on the farm, have you had good results?
I agree that state backing for important strategic projects is poor. UK natural resources have IMO been neglected for decades, while preference has been to import raw materials and export the environmental impacts onto under-developed countries. The Woodsmith mine and Cononish are the worthy rare exceptions.

Regrettably most SXX/BB posters scarcely worth a read these days. AISI, with evaporating government loan backing, would-be investors dragging their feet and/or perhaps getting greedy, CF jumped elsewhere to JPM and other money men. But hey, stage 2 finance done and the project goes on instead of t**s up! As always, there's a price, but better than failing and investors wiped out, so not a "fiasco." One step back, now for 2 steps forward and maybe repeat. It's mining after all! To answer your question, the TBM will likely start in June. Preparations for such complex projects are little understood by commentators.

If you are able to make it to Tyndrum later in the year, contact Scotgold first and ask if you can fit in a mine visit. I've always found them very helpful. Take care on any stream/river beds/banks. A geology field-trip to one about 5 years ago put me in A & E with a dislocated shoulder!

Since I gave up driving, I've got to like buses, but now RNSs are getting like them..............hope for 1 and 4 come at once. I don't understand half of them, except SXX will be fully funded by tomorrow, but God knows what the market will make of it in minutes from now!

At least investing is not boring...................just the frustration of, "Are we nearly there?" whilst listening to everyone who has an opinion, whether they really believe what they say or not. Warren's oft repeated prescription for patience must be galling to many LTHs. Perhaps "The journey is the reward" might be more palatable?
Covered in fertilizer? Poly4 please! Or your fate sounds more like that of Dr. No in Fleming's book! Yuk! Painted in gold by Auric Goldfinger might be preferred.

Ian_G, thanks for the link. Enjoyed the video and recognized a couple of places from my visits.

Hopefully we will hear more from Scotgold's new prospecting initiative as their work progresses over the summer. Would be nice to hear of targets and drilling, though the latter may have to wait until production and income are underway.

RM, nice to hear your observations again and keeping an eye on the 'dark side.'

BBB, I think that even with gold for Xmas, you might have to wait until Spring for Cononish gold for jewelry, but hey, go for his and hers rings. Include yourself with one for for 71 next April! Ha, ha!

Bellers, meanwhile back in N. Yorks., an EU TorP at last to take Sirius off-takes over 10mt/yr. Just need St2 finance and next stop 20mt/yr!!! Will I live to see that? LoL! At least Cononish will be well in production long beforehand!

Hope there might be an opportunity to see Scotgold's 'Dinky Toys' in action later this year, but in the meantime was privileged today to view the 'Tonka Toys' of Sirius Minerals at the Woodsmith Mine and Wilton tunnel. Truly impressive scale and progress.
For Bellers, the TBM will be named on Friday and if you are in the area, a scale model will be on view at the nearby Kirleatham Museum.
That's two worthy UK mining projects getting there.

Good advice.
I was privileged today to visit both the Woodsmith and Wilton sites. The scale and progress are truly impressive. The TBM will be named on Friday and for anyone in the area, a scale model of it will be in Kirkleatham Museum near the Wilton site on Friday-Saturday. All very much onward and downwards.
