Samson, you are entitled to you views and apparently practice what you would preach, however, I find myself in agreement with Baz in that just like in previous social traumas, one's own actions impact upon others and hence the need to protect us from the both the threat and the actions of others. This of course comes at a cost to our freedoms and civilization, but how much greater or more acceptable is the human cost, which would also impact the country if the virus was allowed to take it's course? 100k, 200k, 300k? The fittest would survive and human kind would in the end genetically benefit, but Darwinian evolutionary selection proceeds not just on physical , but also upon behavioral attributes including the colony, herd or society instinct to preserve the greatest number. I'm not religious, but the parable of the good Samaritan comes to mind. Our society is only as good as the sum of it's members and so when some abdicate from personal responsibility, the fault is not in the system, but in the nurturing. I spent some years in teaching, which changed my views on good or not so good children (and ultimately adults) to one of there is no such thing as a bad infant, only bad and indifferent parents. If good parenting were a compulsory taught subject, then personal responsibility might improve. Just IMO. Glen's 'Great Reset' might just be a social/political one driven by trauma, rather than techno/economic one. Time to shut up.
Have a good weekend all, R.
