Once you've signed a supply agreement thats it, grocers give out order projections to suppliers which will be fulfilled, the trouble is when demand outstrips supply, a sign that maybe Ocado is selling a lot more than it bargained for this Xmas!

There is a back up plan, the supplier web portal, if they don't tell Ocado they can't fulfill their order what can Ocado do?

Oh dear some of you don't appear to accept reality, you may have forgottem I'm in the supply chain so do have an understanding of how it works, even my company has let Ocado in the past by not having the stock available as it's gone elsewhere. The supply chain needs to up its game, Ocado aren't the only grocer with these problems, some heavy fines will be in the post by now for missed targets no doubt for stock shortages.

You don't think the suppliers let them down then? Being a totally intergrated system the errors can start back in the suppliers warehouse, if Ocado place orders they expect them to be delivered, its then upto the supplier to deliver what was ordered which I know is not always the case. If suppliers can't fulfill orders they need to inform Ocado via their supplier portal which is down to the supplier, this updates the SKU's that will be available on a given date. Ocado is not always to blame!

I should be lapping up the shares at this price, especially with them looking at bigger projects, just some niggling doubts lingering

Totally agree although I don't see why the SP can't double from todays' price in the short term, all the bad news is priced in now

The RNS is out, appears to be nothing too serious so I expect a rise here tomorrow
