AIM-listed managed services provider Adept4 appears to be on a roll, with interim results showing revenue up 7% yoy to £5.4m and losses shrinking to £765m once discontinued operations are taken out of the equation.

The Warrington-based company has enjoyed something of a turnaround since its rescue by MXC Capital, and its subsequent transition has been focused on integrating the companies it acquired in 2016 whilst revamping the sales and operational teams.

Adept4 grew all three segments of its business in H1, led by professional services (up 38% to £441k) and followed by product sales (up 9% to £1.2m) and recurring services (up 4% to £3.7m). The company completed its first two orders for its Nyotron next generation security platform worth a minimum of £200k, and signed £300k contracts for managed telephony services and an application development project wtih a real estate firm and a contact centre provider.

There was a worrying 9% decline in gross profit for recurring services however (which make up the bulk of Adept4’s business), attributed to a change in buying patterns as customers spend more on professional services fees to shape digital transformation initiatives before switching to off-premise applications and services.
By initiating a migration away from legacy telephony systems and into cloud-hosted Microsoft Skype and Anywhere365 subscriptions for example, Adept4 is left with reduced infrastructure to support and maintain. The company expects the impact of that shift to lessen as it adds more customers over time and upsells additional application development, artificial intelligence and big data analytics services.

Going forward Adept4 will have to manage that transition carefully whilst reviewing its current customer base and implementing a cost rationalisation programme without undermining the operational efficiency of the business.

Techmarket are more upbeat about the results than I am, under water too much to sell now so I'll hang on for the turn !

Another 6 months and we may see some progress on the sales side but at what cost

I agree to a point at this stage that the numbers are probably irrelevant, they didn't make great reading though and we're back at the jam tomorrow page which I see all the time. I've been following for the last 3 years and never invested yet as I remain unconvinced, this strategy I can see now has saved me a lot of money, the SP is well down from its highs, I said Monday it would fall further and it has, I don't think we're at the bottom yet either.

One of my main concerns has always been the environmental impact of the polymer beads but the company appear to have this addressesed tbf.

You're reading too much into it, the SP today is set by the market which has every factor at its disposal in determining the level of the price. Its just supply and demand, nothing more nothing less.

This is so overvalued, even at todays price, still more room for a move down yet

One senses that another deal is coming with regards to MXLG, I can't see the sales proceeds from CTP going anywhere else ! Matter of weeks now ?

RSI back under 70 now, looking bullish still on the technicals but I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped further

Just on stop losses you never get the price you think you're going get, you think you're in control but the reality is your not. You'll have a figure in your head but you wont get that price as it will be the next available market price which could be drastically lower !! The MM's can also see your stop loss and drop the SP to trigger it would you believe in certain scenarios "running the stops" they call it
