The CFC's were big enough under normal circumstances, Ocado got by after the fire at Andover you may recall by switching orders elsewhere. We're living through a global emergency, something none of us have seen before and that brings with it a lot of challenges for everyone. To say the warehouses weren't big enough is a silly comment to be honest, no one could have predicted this event?

Ocado will come through this and it has pushed shoppers online who may not even have bothered in the first instance. It could take 2- 3 years after this crisis has finished before we see a return to normality.

Ocado’s first international customer fulfilment centre (CFC) has today gone live for French supermarket giant Casino.

The CFC is located at Fleury-Mérogis, near Paris, and will be operating with what Ocado called “a small number of test orders”, which will be ramped up over the coming months.

At capacity, Ocado said the depot will be able to handle a turnover of €500m and serve customers across Paris and the nearby Hauts-de-France region for Casino Monoprix customers.

Monoprix has also launched a new ecommerce service with Ocado’s Smart Platform, called Monoprix Plus, which fulfilled its first delivery through the Fleury-Mérogis depot on March 18.

Must be a tax dodgers nightmare this, nowhere to run ?

It looks like demand has completely swamped the company and they're struggling to cope, guaranteed slots have been cancelled which are the die hard Ocado shoppers, current capacity is severely restricting what they can get out.

I had a look today and absolutely no slots available and the same with Morrison's also

Ocado are currently looking at alternative means of delivery via other companies to help relieve the pressure

They could easily have done 10 x the current sales and more but are restricted by capacity and an unprecedented demand on their website, Andover is sorely missed at this crucial time as I've said before

Reading some of the press reports I gather their system thought it was under attached from hackers due to the unprecedented demand so they shut it down, they couldn't take anymore orders anyway as all the slots were booked up and they've now modified it to maker it more restrictive
